Sub par service, beer and food. It appears to get any sort of service you need to be a regular. Otherwise staff doesn’t pay attention to you. Very chaotic seating process. Host disappears leaving a line of people waiting at the door. Just poorly managed.

Big Lug has fantastic food! But they really push their beer. I really didn't like their beer, and I think they should carry some domestic beer. And a tiny margarita was $11. But the food was great and we had great service. Atmosphere? It looked a little kiddish if you know what I mean.

Decent place to hang out. Beers were a hit or miss, liked a few but others felt flat. The food was decent and my poutine was great, except I expected a little more meat on my plate for an entree. The kids menu is good. our server was kind and patient.

Vegetarian options: Not too many veggies options but some decent sides.

Good beer good food. Watch out for the bar tenders. When you go to pay, 20% is not actually 20%. During happy hour on 1/24 a male bartender with bleach hair served me. I had 2 pints which was 6.57. I tipped 20%. Total came out to 9.75. That a 32% tip. Check your math and check the bar tenders!

This was my first time and what a disappointment it was from the drinks to the food to the service. Very disappointed in my server who would connect eyes with me but not attend to his tables. Had to get other servers attention as they walked by. Also why doesn't the wings come with fries at 18 for 12 nuggets to just server pickles with them is wild!!!! Got the gummy bear made into a cocktail tasted like no alcohol at all

I was in tonite and ordered to go; the Spicy Garlic Wings, the Hoss Dip, the Nashville Chicken Biscuits, and the Tommy Pizza. All of it, hands down PHENOMENAL!!! So good! The Pirate Cat Brown is a delicious beer for you to drink while waiting for your food! Will probably go back tomorrow nite! Im from out of town and this is close to Ironworks where I’m staying!

Had a great first experience here. Went around 5 pm on a Sunday, and it wasn't super busy. They have a nice outside dining area that we were honestly aiming for, but ended up just being a tad too chilly for us. We sat upstairs, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The bartender was very nice, said she had only been there for a month, but her recommendations were great. If you like Philly Cheesesteaks, GET THEIR PHILLY CHEESESTEAK! Best I've had in the area, easily. I got the Goat Ranch beer, and it was solid. They had advertisements for trivia nights on Tuesdays, which also paired with other ads for Taco and Marg Tuesdays, and boy do I wish I could go on those nights ?.

Definitely didn't expect to spend $90 for 2 people, but it was worth it!

Big Lug has been a favorite for a very long time, but an awful thing has happened to knock it further down my list: They changed the Willie's Special. That salad has been my favorite/my go-to for years and now it's just not great. So disappointed.

The service is still wonderful, the patio is awesome, and the beer is great.

Big Lug -- and all Sahm's restaurants -- have the best Caesar salad in the city. Please never change your recipe. Other food and beer is also great! Love the patio.

Came here for the 1st time on a Wednesday date night to meet another couple hoping to dine outside on a pleasant weather evening. Reaching the front door, there was a sign that indicated for patio seating you had to turn and walk around to access it. Turns out, we had to walk north around the entire strip building back towards 86th street, past the side facing 86th street, and then back towards the backside of the building. We missed the host stand walking up as there was a larger-than-life connect 4 being played by some kids and other folks wandering around. After walking towards the outdoor bar, we were directed back towards the host stand where the host indicated it would be a wait for a table, but that we could dine on the upstairs patio if we wanted. After telling us how to get there, we arrived to find all of the tables on that patio full and just starting their dining experiences as well. We then walked indoors to the upstairs bar area where there were a number of tables available, but found our friends already at a table in the downstairs family dining area, so we headed down.

Our server seemed to be working hard, but she was definitely stretched thin. She appeared to be the bartender for the downstairs bar, but also was tending to the booths in the bar area AND the tables in the family dining area. Needless to say, the service wasn't overly attentive, but I don't blame our server for that.

My wife and I each ordered a drink. I chose the Pirate Cat Porter, which had a $5 pint special. It was fine, but it was a little more bitter and hoppy than I prefer, so I didn't order a 2nd one. My wife ordered an Ash & Elm Cider, which I thought was also on tap, but turned out to be a 12 oz can. For $8, that seemed a bit steep considering you could get a 4 pack for $10.

Why the experience restaurant-wise wasn't a complete tank was the food. We had wanted to try a variety of non-meat options (my wife is pescatarian), so we ordered the Fun Guy Pie ($15 - 10" w/ mushrooms, tomatoes, goat cheese, mozarella, olive oil, basil), and 4 sides of Spicy Garlic Cauliflower ($6.99 - beer battered, fried & tossed in spicy garlic), Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts ($5.49), Sweet Corn Cous Cous ($5.49), and Hand Cut Fries ($5.49). One negative, our fries never showed up, but everything else was good to awesome. The pizza was excellent and loaded with toppings. The cauliflower was unreal, I would probably eat darn near anything covered in that nectar that they coated it in. The Brussels were decent, although my wife found the honey to be too sweet. The sweet corn cous cous had a lot of flavor, but caught us off guard by its being served cold and maybe a little excessive on the mayo or whatever creamy binding ingredient that they used. Fries at other tables looked good with the skin still on, but sadly we don't know.

Bottom line, we are interested in trying it again. We WON'T walk the cross-country course again, so that should help my temperament. Maybe the service might be better upstairs where fewer folks were, but won't get my hopes up too high. Definitely interested in re-ordering some of the items we tried this time and perusing the "Late Night" menu that runs 3-5:00 and 8:30-close for their selection of snacks and tacos for $4. If things go well, I'll update the review & add a star or two if deemed worthy.
