They up charged me 30 on my 20 dollar order and proceeded to charge me 10% taxes when state taxes are 7% and even after that they bill was still 5 dollars over what I should of been, this some thiefs restaurant ?

Ok I'm on break and working in front of their restaurant so I will try them... 1st off I called in my order told them 2 steak taco, with celantro,cheese,and sour cream only...lady asked did I want onions and lettuce? I said no then I asked if they sell corn on the cob or in a cup? Someone else got on the phone and said no they don't then hung up on me... So I call back and ask can I still get my 2 steak taco with cheese, celantro, and sour cream only. Lady says yes it will take about 10 minutes. Ok no problem I'm right across the street. Walk across the street and go in it's a nice environment but they barely speak English..so my food comes up to under $8 so i give her a $20 dollar bill only cash I got...I knew i should have used my debit card..Why did the lady try to only give me $1 and some change back ...im like hold up i gave you $20 then she says sorry and talks to the lady who cooks the food..then she finally finds me a $10. So at this point I'm already a lil heated cause y'all hung up without telling me how much for the food. Then I have to call back and now you just trying to cheat me out of my money..so I get my food and before I can even take a bit I see onions the main ingredient I told her and the other person no onions...smh...so I go back in and immediately ask for me money back...she has the nerves to tell me it's no onions on it I literally got pissed and picked the onions out in front of her and show her. I ordered a strawberry agua fresca and it was spoiled . They brought it out with white slime in the cup. My son ordered horchata and the waitress said it was a drop of horchata but once I taste it, it was horrible sour. I asked my son to taste it and he said mom ask them to change it. Then I ordered 4 tacos 1. Birria 1. Asada. 1. Carnitas 1. Pastor . They only brought me 3. Then I asked no vegetables. Just sour cream and cheese they microwave the food it felt horrible and the presentation was horrible and in top of that they put mayo instead of sour cream. Me being fluently Spanish and English the lady said that it was what they had. Last time I ever come here and then they do not use gloves to serve drinks and they have a guy super dirty type of mechanic because he was all dirty greasy going inside the kitchen. Service was ok but food was horrible. When it was time for us to pay she never told me that it was going to be a dollar extra for using my card and when she ran my card she just laughed and said hahaha I have to charge a dollar extra I already did that customer service was horrible as well I came out smelling like Mayo because they put so much Mayo on my tacos . Worst place ever .

If you are looking for a super authentic Mexican restaurant Birreria Ocotlan is a fantastic choice to go to. Located at 2033 S State Avenue Birreria Ocotlan is so authentic that you literally must know how to speak Spanish if you go there. Literally no one who worked there knew how to speak English which made my friend and I really dig deep and try to remember our high school Spanish classes to communicate. It was fun and was a cool experience being in that situation where you had to speak another language in order to get our food and pay. The pros of Birreria Ocotlan are their food and hospitality. The server we had seemed nice from what I could understand from her Spanish. She was always smiling and was very patient when we were trying to tell her our order. For their food I suggest trying their birria tacos with their consume to dip your tacos in. I also really highly suggest you give the horchata drink a try if you ever come to Birreria Ocotlan or a Mexican restaurant in general that offers it. It was my first time ever trying it and I have always heard it was a popular Mexican drink and so I decided to try it with my friend. It tasted like iced vanilla/cinnamon cream milk, and I am now obsessed with horchata. The cons of Birreria Ocotlan was the atmosphere. When you walk in the restaurant you just had happy birthday balloons when you walk in at the entrance, a tv playing salsa music on YouTube on your right after walking in, and that was it. Walls, booths, and tables were just all plain white. They just have baskets for the food and Styrofoam cups for the drinks and dips. Which kind of stinks because it could be so much more of an experience! They just need to show some love on the inside and make it more unique like other Mexican restaurants and not plain. In conclusion If you want some really authentic Mexican food that's pretty good with cool drinks to try, want to talk to people in Spanish that have a really good hospitality staff, and do not care about atmosphere as much like I do personally then Birreria Ocotlan is a great place to try!
