I ended up stopping by Broad Ripple Brewpub to try their beer just as they opened. It was fairly quite at first, although customers were trickling in as I sat at the bar. The place has a warm, pub atmosphere, and the bar was pretty comfortable. I guess they’re one of the oldest brewpubs in the state, and their beer was excellent. I can see why they’ve stood the test of time, although their food sounded good too. I got a hand-pulled cask ale, and it was deliciously smooth. It’s well worth stopping by just to enjoy the cask ale. If I’m ever down in the Indianapolis area again with friends, I’ll be sure to take them here.

Broadripple Brew Pub is one of our favorite local spots! The food is awesome and the service is consistently friendly. Solid beer selection and a great patio for when the weather gets warmer. I can’t recommend this place enough!

A Broad Ripple icon churning out consistency for decades. You can never go wrong with an ESB and fish and chips, but the real star - outside of their scotch eggs - is their continued commitment to their vegan and vegetarian offerings. It’s tough to find in general in Indy let alone at a brewpub.

Excellent food, particularly their vegan menu. Great for groups that have varied dietary needs. But sadly the service is so abysmal that its almost not worth it. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and an HOUR for food. Then, to top it off, the guy took our card and didn't come back for 15 minutes after we told him we were in a hurry and late for our event. Order take out and run!

The Brew Pub is a must stop for dinner when I'm back in town. Lots of great vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. I can never resist the vegan Rueben sandwich though! A nice selection of solid beers too.

Went here with my wife for a quick lunch before going to our concert at Butler. We were staying at Hotel Broad Ripple and my wife pointed it out as we were looking where to eat before the concert. Despite some reviews, I loved how the owner replied and seemed to be doing his best, I found the pub’s about page to be very cool! Plus we liked that this place was within walking distance and had a casual and community based feel. Despite being dressed up for the evening concert, we didn’t want to go someplace expensive and stuffy and were happy to see the prices on their menu were reasonable too!
We were not disappointed! The server was excellent, the food came out fast food, and it was delicious! We had onion rings to split, my wife had fish and chips, and I had an Oktoberfest dish comprised of mashed potatoes on a bed of red cabbage with sausage slices on top served in a handled bowl. The onion rings were perfect, the batter on her fish was light and crispy and you actually got a decent sized price fish over some flat small fillet! The sausage melted in my mouth and it was just a great experience! We are Cincy, but if we ever stay at HBR again we will be back.
Should note too that I use a wheelchair and it was perfectly accessible as well :)

What a wonderful place to spend the evening. Cool brewpub atmosphere. Super friendly staff. A huge vegetarian selection. And of course I have to mention the great beer selection. High quality food and beer at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back on our next trip through Indy.

Horribly slow service. Food is good but after 3 times of slow service, I will not be back. Make sure you plan ahead :-)
Edit in Response: Yes, the food comes out quick but 2/3 times, the host took at least 7 minutes to greet us. I’ve had to wait even longer to get my check. Perhaps it was the times we went, but a host should be at the front on weekends and a server shouldn’t be slow on a weekday night. It’s just not a restaurant that created a good dining experience. BOH is giving great service. FOH needs help.

Excellent food and beer. More relaxed environment, dog friendly patio, convenient to the Monon Trail. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had there, especially the sloppy joe. They have a great menu with options for everyone, including lots of good vegetarian and vegan options.
