Met some friends downtown for dinner. Our server was very nice. They were out of the stuffed shells and lasagna at 8 on a Friday… not completely unexpected but still. We got the appetizer trio, the calamari was freezer burnt and extremely bland. The fried mozzarella was good, and the spicy shrimp were decent but very oily. We just had apps and drinks. The manager was nice enough to comp our calamari and gave us coupons for a future visit, but I don’t think I’ll be returning. For the price, the food was very uninspiring.

Went to wedding celebration stopped in for a bite. Sever brought out bland extra food (chicken) not ordered an manager (Eric?) excepted me to pay for it. He yelled at me infront of entire restaurant. I returned the same energy. He was removed by his general manager and the bland chicken was taken off my bill. Will never eat there again.

Food was COLD. Added chicken to a meal for $7.99 and got two strips of chicken. They brought out more chicken but it was like rubber. She asked what we were drinking when she brought out more chicken so we thought they were giving us a free drink for the trouble but they charged us for the extra drink. They also tried to charge us for a meal we didn't get.

This was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. Our friends' food was delivered 25 minutes before ours. The waitress kept apologizing but we watched as the same thing happened at every table in the restaurant. When we asked about a birthday special, we were told we could get one but it would be melted before it made it to the table. So she didn't let us order a birthday dessert. Management was nowhere to be seen.

Buca di Beppo has seen better days I think. They have a fun style of dining where you choose a few family style dishes to share with the table. However, the menu is boring and limited. Spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine alfredo, chicken marsala...all the classics are there but if you are wanting something a little lighter or more adventurous you're out of luck. I appreciated the ambiance and we had a nice quiet dining room where we were able to talk, but the food left a lot to be desired. I will say I appreciate that the Alfredo was not overly heavy and the pasta was not over dressed. But the chicken was unseasoned and very bland. There are too many good Italian places in Indy to come back to this place any time soon.

Kids really wanted to eat pasta Friday night after their swim meet. Their kids spaghetti with meatball looked really good and they ate most of it. They ordered the kids portion which was perfect for 12 year olds! I ordered the margarita pizza which looked like it was made by my 12 year old. Sauce reminded me of a can of something I have had and the cheese was not fully melted. It was super plain and super plain tasting. I expected some olive oil or basil leaves maybe, just a little more taste. I could hardly hold it to eat it, it was falling apart I think because it was overloaded in sauce on the flatbread. The caprese appetizer was also not good- tomatoes held a lot of water and didn’t taste juicy or ripe at all and again, the dish was plain. There was no balsamic drizzle or any garnish. My friend ordered two different dishes and both were not available and it took the waiter a long time to come back to notify us after we placed the order that her first choice was no available. She then chose two other dishes which he said were not available either.
