I had a latte and coffee cake. They were both great.
Coffee is good, but too weak for my preferences. When the barista handed me my latte, I could tell by the color it was too milky....but adding another shot (i know they're pulled as doubles) is $3.50+ which is absurd. I get it... coffee prices are going up, not your problem. However, only one size of latte is offered & for me to get a latte that actually tastes like coffee, it would be $10+. That's just not doable. Too pricey!!

Bummer to be writing this, have been in the past and had a great cup and experience, but it seems this place has changed. Came in with an hour and a half until closing. Asked about pour over selection, was cut off and told “I’m by myself, I won’t be making that. Also we are out of drip.” Ordered an espresso instead and sat and watched how for the next hour only 1 more patron came in. This is a specialty coffee shop that you can’t get a drip or pour over at if they are an hour and a half until closing..

In my opinion, the coffee menu is a bit limited. The last two times I’ve been to the commissary, many items were out of stock. I took a friend there and he ended up not ordering anything because so much was not available.
The staff did try to accommodate him, but they lost him after the fifth/sixth thing he asked for it wasn’t available. The commissary isn’t a place to go for low prices.
I’m really impressed with the pan Dan syrup. Not many people have it and it’s delightful. The staff know their stuff about coffee. I’ve never had cocktails here, but I wouldn’t hesitate to try if I was there when I wasn’t working.
i’ve had several baked goods, which I believe come from someplace else, and they’ve all been above average
I love the atmosphere - walking down into the coffee shop is great. Feels like a comfy breakfast nook. I wonder how comfortable it would be on a cold winters day because there is not an airlock for the doors.

We came here for a drink after lunch and had a delicious Pandan Latte and Cappuccino. Both drinks were very delicious and served fast. Friendly staff, chill atmosphere. Great place to hang or do some work.

If want sour coffee then this is your place. Wifi is bad too. had several drinks from here and none of them were good ...much better options in indy for coffee.

Hadn’t been to Commissary for a couple years. Went to get a haircut and my fiancé had a coffee while she waited.
Nick gave me an excellent haircut, he even cut it for my hair type which many barbers just don’t seem to. He paid a lot of attention to detail which I’m very happy about. Will be my go to barber now. Thanks Nick!

A fairly simple place for coffee and breakfast. As expensive as most places now, I think tea was $6 and croissant was like $5 or something.

I have been coming here since they opened and I have never had a bad visit. Their drinks are consistent and their staff are always so friendly! If I ever have a question about their current coffee/roasters, they are super knowledgeable and always happy to answer questions. But most importantly, their coffee is arguably the best in Indy. Their lattes in particular can’t be beat. The flavors are so well-balanced and well thought out. The espresso choice always blends so well with the latte flavor. Plus, they always have innovative flavors (don’t shy away from that pineapple ube latte!) lately, they have had a pandan latte that has changed my life. But even the classics are amazing. My dad always gets mocha lattes and theirs really takes it to the next level with the hint of citrus. Keep up the great work! You have a customer for life out of me! Haha

The coffee is excellent! The atmosphere is really nice. The morning we went, it was a quiet place that would be great to read a book or study.

Best little coffee shop in town to work and relax. The coffee is fabulous and the staff is wonderful. The decor and exposed brick are everything! Definitely worth popping in for a coffee or pastry - or hair cut!
Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible - steps going down into building. Not aware of any service elevator.

This place just nails it. I can be a bit picky with my pour overs, but so are they, so…?. If you’re really into coffee and have your own brew system at home, I had great conversation with the staff and learned a lot from them, so don’t hesitate to strike up conversation! They clearly care about what they do and it will translate to your cup!
