Well, I went to El Meson for the last time last night. I ordered the Tlayuda, with the grilled chicken ($12.45 menu price). The waiter asked me if I would like to "mix in some chorizo too, its really good". So I assume he means it'll be half the amount of chicken, and half chorizo, with possibly a small upcharge for the extra hassle.
Nope. My total bill was $26 and that is all I ordered. He charged me more than double to add in the chorizo.. when I could have just ordered a completely 2nd Tlayuda with chorizo only, and it would have been less.

Man... Really disappointed. We used to frequent all of the El meson locations and I remember them being pretty solid choices. We ordered our meal to go from here the other night. It was so pricey and just.... Not great at all. Definitely not worth the cost. There are much better Mexican restaurants in the area.

I frequent all of the Mexican places in the Indianapolis area. I’m not sure why but this one is just better! Mejor! The enchilada sauce is rich and delicious. The mini chimichangas are sinfully delicious. Rice and beans consistently on point. David’s margarita is a favorite.

If I could give it a zero I would!!!!! Came for work outing and 4 of us order arroz con pollo and arroz con carne and they would not give us soft tortilla shells unless we paid extra. I've been ordering this my whole life and NEVER HAD TO PAY!!! WILL NEVER GIVE THEM BUSINESS AGAIN! Many mexican restaurants out there and we will go to one THAT DOESNT CHARGE EXTRA FOR THINGS THAT SHOULD COME WITH THE MEAL!

I don’t usually write reviews but this was the absolute best guacamole I’ve ever had in my life. Also This is was perfect place to go after church…. Amazing Service, sweet people around that are passionate about making good food. You can tell they make their food with excellence.
