Having been to the El Taco Torro at 42nd and Franklin, as well as the one at 79th and Michigan, which were both underwhelming, I was pleasantly surprised by this location. First of all, the space is brand new and very well decorated. It's not your typical taqueria in that regard. It's a very modern, clean, and inviting space.
The food is very good. I typically just indulge in taqueria staples (tacos, burritos, tortas, etc), but they have a more expansive menu. It's a bit pricey for taqueria fare, but everything was fresh and very well prepared. Portions were sufficient.
The people working there are all very friendly. Every time I've visited there's been at least one person fully fluent in English, and the rest seem to know enough to where it's not an issue. A little bit of basic Spanish would be helpful, but is by no means necessary.
I'll also say I really enjoy the attached grocery. It's not very big, but it's well stocked and prices are good. Produce is usually cheaper and better quality than you'd find in American groceries. They have a well stocked meat counter, with lots of options you won't find at Kroger. The cashiers are usually bilingual, although you may need some Spanish to order at the meat counter. I try to go during times when I think it won't be busy, just because it can be a bit intimidating when it's busy, with everyone else speaking another language.
I really hope both of these places succeed. The location has me a bit skeptical, but they're great additions to a part of town that could really use them.

What Mexican restaurant has no salsa….. burrito was fair but big bag of chips and no salsa went back and they didn’t understand the word SALSA come on… …. Red spicy sauce is NOT salsa a waste of money. Rude to boot !

Trash! I was served soggy chicken tacos. I got home and the shells were falling apart I couldn't even eat the taco. I called to try and return and supposedly, no one speaks English and they hung up on me. Avoid this place at all cost it seems like they only cater to their own kind.

The food is good when it’s good but it’s not consistent. I only go here because it’s so close to my house. It’s usually empty. The girls at the register are very rude not friendly at all. The cooks are extremely slow. Place is empty and I ordered 3 tacos, took 20 minutes. The vibe is all off. Needs new management n friendly staff. Chicken tacos were good n steak tacos had a very very weird taste.

Very disappointed in the service that I receive here. I will call to place a carry out order and will just get hung up on over and over again. Whenever I go to place a order in the restaurant, I'm look at like I'm crazy. Tacos are NOT that good to receive this horrible service

I am sorry to the owner of the establishment that he needs to supervise his restaurant staff since today I felt ignored since his waitresses prefer to be chatting and on their cell phone rather than serving customers since it is a new and very clean establishment but with that staff you don't want to come back
