Found this gem of a restaurant by happenstance, and now one of my favorite places! The owner introduced himself to us when we walked in, ran us through the menu, and even gave us samples of their house salad and mac and cheese (both so good and will be getting next time!), and is one of the main cooks. Fitzgerald’s is the best spot for lunch in Lawrence and Indianapolis as a whole in my opinion! Excellent food. His homemade ranch dressing is to die for. EVERYTHING I’ve tried on the menu has been stellar. The owner is a super friendly guy and always remember us when we come in for lunch.
This is a first class lunch restaurant about one block northeast of 56th and post. They're very conscious of using excellent ingredients in all their menu items and the service is terrific. The dining room is on the small side so I'd recommend getting there on the edge of the lunch rush. There is no dinner service and parking can get limited in part due to an adjacent restaurant.
