Food was ok. I've had better though but was too bad on the first try.

I love the tacos here! They make their own shells, crispy and fried. The food is always fresh, not microwaved Mexican, and they never skimp on meat. Also, it's not greasy, and the meat has great seasoning. Definitely stop in Washington Square mall for this treat. I would love to see this mall make it, with local businesses and family owned restaurants.

Delicious and authentic with excellent service. I was impressed with everything I tried. Even their rice and beans are better than most.

I frequent this all the time. It's always in my neighborhood. You cannot beat the authenticity here. I crave steak tacos all the time and that's why they get my bills. :P

11 PM on a Sunday night. Straight off the plane in the foreign city of Indianapolis. The Yelper in me did not want to settle for White Castle. I wasn't craving a midnight breakfast, but Mexican food sounded good. A late night taco truck fit the bill and a quick search on Yelp brought me to Taqueria 5 Amigos. I drove straight from the airport. In retrospect, it was probably not the smartest idea since I did not know the city at all. I soon questioned my decision after passing 2 cop cars in the span of 5-6 blocks. However, that still didn't deter me as hunger overwhelmed logic at that point. I arrived outside a shady looking bar (maybe strip club?) called el Bohemio. Truly divey in appearance. Despite being midnight on a Sunday, there were still a handful of patrons -seemingly locals who lived in the neighborhood and also customers of the bar. Prices were cheap and portions were large. 2 tacos and 1 burrito was 9 bucks. I got a strange look when I ordered and the person taking my ordered asked, "are you sure?" Apparently 2 tacos is usually enough and as I found out later, it was. The food was good. Better and more authentic than anything I can get here in Rochester at any time of the day, not to mention at midnight on a Sunday. Well seasoned meats and fresh ingredients. Sliced radishes, lime and some chili sauce accompanied the meal. I'm not sure if the chili sauce was homemade or from a container, but it had the perfect amount of kick, without regrets the next day if you know what I mean. Overall a really great inexpensive Mexican "food truck." I would come back in a heartbeat. I'm sure the place would seem a little less dodgy during the daytime, but it was not even that bad at midnight. I wish we had something similar in Rochester. I believe they are open until 2 AM, 7 days a week. I don't see why anyone would go to Taco Bell down the street.

I have decided to reconcile my feelings for this place with a third (and final - swearsies) review. I have had two pretty good experiences and one really bad one here (see below for details of both) and I have decided that it averages out to an "A-OK" rating. If you stick to the basics of tacos and quesadillas its not a bad spot for quick and reasonable priced tasties. They are always out of something (sometimes chicken, sometimes pork, SOMETIMES CILANTRO) but whatevs -- I mean it's a taco truck. They take cards which is more than you can say for some legitimate businesses in this town. Just don't get the nachos. As I said before, they nasty.

YUM! So glad this place is near me. I kept forgetting what street it was on, so I had to circle many blocks. Remember: On Washington, just east of Sherman. I had the buritto asada. It was tasty, and I finished all but the last two bites. I just could not fit them in my stomach. There are a couple tables where you can sit and eat outside. This is more or less a docked taco truck. The place really looks like a truck you'd find at the fair. The two people working in the truck were extremely nice and really handled the annoying customers in front of me who should have just gone to Taco Bell.

Pretty darn good...although there a couple of places I prefer..mostly I prefer the sauces at other places... ....but..still..very goood hot tomatillo and red salsas. ...none-the-less....still quite good...and more than willing to go with my usual request of two taco shells....flour on the outside...corn on the inside... Obviously ya cant beat the prices... ...and the characters you meet waiting for your food are worth the trip...even if ya ate nada ! ...and I am sure the crack staff at Yelp on the name change ! as mentioned by others...now is El Bohemio !

This place is now called El Bohemio. And it only takes cash. Tacos $1.75 We were looking for late night snacks on a weekday midnight and boy am I glad I found this place on Yelp! Cheap, yummy street food was exactly what I had in mind. Being the only Asians there, people realized that we can't read the menu and were kind enough to explain what kind of tacos they are serving and we quickly made up our mind to go for Azada (steak), Lengua (Chopped beed) and Chicharon (Pork skin). They come with cheese, cilantro, onion and salsa sauce. They are A.W.E.S.O.M.E. By far the best tacos I ever had! Guess what, they have Grape fanta too! I am so coming back to this place.

I finally got a chance to stop here last night as I drove home from downtown. The setting can be a little intimidating, at least for a single woman, as it is in the parking lot of a gentlemen's club. That is one of the reasons I hadn't stopped by before. But no one bothered me while I was there. This was an after-dinner snack for me, so I just ordered 2 tacos: one asada and one pastor. The asada was fine, but the pastor was the best damn pastor meat I've ever had!! I'm still drooling this morning just thinking of it. I'm not sure how I'll be satisfied with any other taco flavor now. And both came with the traditional cilantro and onions, along with your choice of roja or verde sauce. I chose the spicier verde sauce, and it was a great accompaniment to the meat. Next time I'm there I'll have to branch out and try some of the other meats, like the cabeza (head? brain?). And of course I must try the tortas. But I will always get at least one taco el pastor and save it for dessert! Now I'm off to eat my lunch, which sadly does not contain a taco al pastor. Sigh...

I've spent the past year or so looking for the best tacos in town, and there are a bunch of great places but this taco truck just might be the place so far in Indy. I just had the steak tacos here the other day, and haven't had anything else there yet, but I was so stoked after eating these things that it got me over the hump to actually sign up for Yelp to post a review. The food's good enough to warrant a cult following, well worth checking out and dropping 5 bucks on.

Everything Jon said was spot on. I live a couple blocks from this joint and have been there many times. The tacos are done authentically w cilantro and onions on two corn tortillas. The tortas are huge, and come w beans, tomatoes, avacado, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. Each taco and torta comes with choice of beef, marinated pork, beef head, tongue, chicken, or chorizo. A must try: taco in a bag. They crunch up the chips in a fritos bag and put the innards of a taco inside. Delicious! Please leave a tip, these guys are out there no matter the weather making amazing food.

Saturday. 10pm. "I'm off to get some tacos" dammit (bum lazy defiance of fending for myself without having to cook, instead fetch some meat in a tortilla somewhere off the street). And street indeed. "Street food" should be a category. These are legit Mexican street tacos. Just like I found in Mexico City, San Diego & LA. Taqueria 5 Amigos is a trailer parked outside El Bohemio night club. I've only seen it parked there at night on the weekends (hence, how I knew where to go on a late Saturday night). (And it was raining so I didn't pull out my camera phone to show you just how rad this spot is -- you'll have to go yourself!) They cover every nook of possible orders in this cart run by two guys. From horchata to nachos to 'dillas to burritos to tacos of all types, if you leave displeased it's because you went to the wrong place. Street food is for those that soak up what's genuine and authentic about cities, and our fair city has more stellar street food than you'd imagine. There's nowhere I'd rather be than on a dreary Saturday night than leaning on a pole, amongst scattered men waiting for their order, in front of a grill street side. Beware of parking in the El Bohemio lot. You'll get parked in if you're timing's right (probably any time during the weekend) and won't be able to leave unless you adventure into El Bohemio to find the driver of the car parked behind you, or get lucky like me and the car's driver is asleep in the car waiting for his friend to come back out of El Bohemio. $ 4 burritos. $1.50 tacos (and my cabeza taco was on the "super taco" end of size). Speaking of cabeza (that's head)... it was brilliant. Stewed. Smooth. Crazy rich flavor that gives you an immediate beef high. Tack on the "hot" tomatillo salsa, and score one for the gipper (that's you).
