I met my brother here for dinner tonight. He has been telling me how good it is for awhile, and he was right! I had a torta and my brother had the burrito. They both had a good flavor and were prepared well, but their guac is amazing.

We went to Gill Tacos for the second time ever. Probably the best tacos I have had. I got the steak (carne asada) tacos with cilantro and onions and asked for cheese as well. I like flour tortillas so I ordered flour. Soooo good!! My wife got the taco salad. She said it tasted good but felt like nachos since it was served on chips instead of a fried bowl. We live in northern Indiana but can't wait to get back south to Indy and have tacos there again. And I should say how the steak was so tender and the flavor is one of a kind that is so delicious.

Best tacos in Indy. If you think there’s somewhere better than you’ve never been here.

My experience was terrible and I will not come back. There was a young guy on his 20s when I order and He was very rude and you can tell he is not professional and doesn't have any costumer service experience. You can try Antojitos puebla people are more friendly and there food is excellent.

The fish tacos were very good. I didn't like the chicken tacos as much. I will try the pork tacos next time.

I've never heard of this place before coming here by chance; the place I was originally going to closed early, and I am not mad about that. I don't usually come out this way, so after a quick check of Yelp, it showed this place close by and highly recommended. And another plus, they offer online ordering through Yelp. This place is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. But surprisingly, the restaurant was very busy for a weekday afternoon; almost all of the tables were occupied. Always a plus to see a place poppin' at non-peak times imo. I made sure to order a couple of different tacos to try (and share with the hubs) so I ordered two of each of the asada, pollo and carnitas tacos. I clearly realized my mistake after taking one bite, because, omg, these tacos are are so, so tasty. I think someone used the word phenomenal and I 100% agree. Out of the three types of tacos, the chicken taco was my favorite. I am, of course, not opposed to trying every taco they offer to confirm it's my favorite. :P Note about ordering time: I ordered through the Yelp app and arrived within 7 minutes of ordering. The restaurant was very busy, however, I only waited for less than 5 minutes for my takeout to be ready. Pretty amazing imo :)

Wow, this is a great spot and something you would just pass by. Authentic is the best way to describe it. We had great service with suggestions. Our meal was spot on.

I grabbed an early dinner at Gil. The place is modest, but they offer friendly counter service and a pleasant seating area. I had the John Fries and a carne asada steak taco. The taco was excellent. Tender, flavorful meat and a fresh tasty tortilla - delicious. The fries were a unique take on loaded fries. They were topped with pork, cheese sauce and vegetables. A generous portion and great flavor.

Raised the price of their small tacos to $3.50. While I love their food, there's no way I'm going back anytime soon!

We happen to eat at Gil's today for lunch. It's located just outside the Park Fletcher area on the Westside of Indianapolis. Honestly, one could easily drive by it. The food was great-easy, authentic no fuss tacos. Fresh quacamole. My colleagues had burritos which were a good portion, and really good. Locally the National Guard Armory is close and there were some soldiers there---meaning it's a good place to eat. Soldiers know the good places!! It's a small dining area, with an order desk and then sit. It may be a challenge to accommodate a large group unannounced at this location. But great for local date nite, or small group 4-6. It is also fair to say that having a table may not be available given small dining area. So keep that in mind. There isn't a wow factor with the aesthetics because it is about the food and timely service. Definitely worth checking out.

Usually really busy at lunch, but great food and people. Ordering ahead is a wise choice
