My roomie and I are brand new Indianapolis. We’ve gone twice. Overall, we just found the place highly unwelcoming. It’s groups of cliques everywhere. My advice is that if you want someone to meet, talk to get to know or have fun, make friends, don’t plan to find that unless you bring it with you. We did really like the drag show each time, Except for the one black guy performer who would not dress in drag, but just flashy, plastic outfits, and frolic around just wanting tips.

Indy’s main gay bar. I do wish there were fewer bachelorette groups at any one time.

Gregs is a magical place. As a drag performer, they have frequently been my safe space and offered me love and support for my craft. The drinks are STRONG, so pace yourself. The staff is pleasant and the music is bangin'.

One of the premier gay bars in Indy. I can't recommend it enough to people looking to just kick back enjoy a drink or to watch a show.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had in a bar I went to Gregs on a leather night, not knowing that walking in without leather Halloween Costume apparently made me less than human to almost everyone there. The people in leather—who clearly saw themselves as some elite inner circle—were some of the most arrogant, stuck-up individuals I’ve ever encountered. Several looked right at me like I was a pile of manure under their boots. Not a nod, not a hello, just cold stares and judgment. It was like stepping into some exclusive little Halloween costume club where basic decency is reserved only for those who dress the part. As for the bartenders—they weren’t snobby to everyone, but it was clear they had their favorites. You’d see them light up with exaggerated, over-the-top greetings like “Oh hey honey, how are you?” to their regulars, while giving others—like me—barely a glance. The contrast made the whole place feel even more cliquish and performative. Their attitude and body language gave off a vibe of, “If you’re not part of the inner circle, don’t expect much.” It genuinely felt like I was being Disliked for who I am not—as if not wearing the right outfit or playing their little leather role made me invisible or disposable. I’ve been to plenty of bars across the country, and the whole place just stood out that night for being the most unfriendly, pretentious, and downright toxic place I’ve set foot in. 👎
