Every time I've got donuts from here they have always been extremely good. Today I stopped in and the door was still unlocked after closing. Since they had already close the cash register the nice lady just gave me the donuts free of charge.Kindness is still out here

My mom used to get every birthday cake from Hart Bakery 30 years ago. Now that I have children of my own, I've carried on the tradition of getting every birthday cake from Hart Bakery for my kids' birthdays as well. That's how wonderful their cakes are! Hart Bakery is amazing!
Back in the 1980s, I began working in a catering business. The best wedding cakes were always made by Hart Bakery. When my husband and I decided to get married, I fretted about finding a delicious cake, because the trend is to be pretty rather than tasty. I'm a Blue Ribbon baker with desserts that have been featured in Oprah (and my husband has won baking awards, too), but I didn't think we should take on wedding cake with everything else going on. While searching, I came across Hart Bakery on Yelp Indy. Immediately, I contacted them to find out that Sandy is still baking! We tasted from several different trendy bakeries...And my teenage stepsons, elderly father in law, and my husband all agreed that no cake came even close in quality for flavor and texture. We loved our wedding cakes of chocolate and white with buttercream! Several guests asked me where we found such an unusually yummy cake. And they are a steal! Less than half the price of the most popular cake places in Indy. Make sure to call them, because they don't get the messages through their website. Also, they are cash only.
I could go for a blueberry donut right now. Hart Bakery makes the best donuts in Indy, too. Really.

Were we surprisedTried some of their cookies at a function (first thing gone at the dessert table) and we wanted more. Also got a recommendation from a friend. Stopped by after exercise and got 2 apple fritters and 2 apple oatmeal cookies for a total sum of $5. They prefer cash. The fritters were freshly made and delicious. Tasted more homemade than some of the store bakeries. The cookies were a standout worth buying again product. I think they were a generous oatmeal cookie stuffed with dried apple instead of raisins. Not overly sweet which we like. Worth every little penny and will be going back. Good thing they are not next door. Their website gives the history of the bakery and more info on the products they carry.

Those toffee cookies are simply bricks.... I never in my life have I had cookies this hard. Terrible !!!!!!!!

The danish dandies and sticky buns are very good, however I've noticed they are smaller now. But how can they be out of both at 8:30 am on a Thursday? One of the ladies is never pleasant and never smiles, but the young ladies are always pleasant with a smile. I'm going to Jack's donuts from now on.

I recently had them do a custom wedding cake. We were planning on 10-12 and they suggested an 8" cake when others recommended 6". They sat with me and discussed what the vision was by looking through photos I had on my phone. They did an all white 3 tier cake with buttercream icing and rosettes on the top for the same cost if not less than other bakeries' 6" cakes. The process was easy, the cake looked stunning, the size was perfect and it tasted delicious. I would definitely recommend them!
