GREAT selection! Unique flavors like cornbread should definitely be tried by everyone. Tons of dairy free options too that are actually creamy and really good, like snickersoodle and chocolate coconut. Grab a few pints for home too, fresh packed in store.

My boyfriend and I were in town and were looking for an ice cream shop and stumbled upon Heartland Homemade Ice Cream. It’s a small cozy shop with a variety of unique flavors, including corn bread, which was very good! There’s not a bad flavor to choose! They also have dairy free ice creams and Italian ice. We originally got a flight (four scoops with waffle cone chips and whipped cream) of four different flavors but were left craving more so we got three more flavors in a cup to share, so we tried seven flavors total (cornbread, brown butter, lemon cookie, blueberry cheesecake, carrot cake, butter pecan, and banana bread [which is dairy free]). So good! Definitely recommend, and I’m sure we will be back in the future when we are in town again!

The Dairy Free Cookies & Cream was a revelation—creamy, flavorful, and proof that Heartland takes dietary preferences seriously without compromising taste. And the Black Raspberry Chip was a standout, bursting with fruity brightness and balanced by decadent chocolate pieces. It’s clear that their menu is thoughtfully curated to offer something for everyone, whether you’re craving classic comfort flavors or adventurous new twists.

Hidden gem on the south side. Great homemade ice cream and delightful staff.

I try lots of different ice cream shops in the area. This place might sneakily be my favorite. The hand dipped ice cream is truly handmade and not a repackaging of another ice cream brand. Great unique flavor choices including corn bread, which was amazing! Staff was friendly and moved at lightning speed. Reasonable prices especially for the quality. Portions were as expected. It’s worth a little detour to stop in here.

Best chocolate milkshake hands down

Nice local ice cream parlor with delicious homemade ice cream and homemade waffle cones at a very reasonable price. The staff was also very friendly. My wife and her friend enjoyed the coffee cookie ice cream while I had the Twix ice cream. We all enjoyed the flavor of our ice cream immensely. We will be returning.
