You get the feeling you are in Germany. One of my favorite places to go for lunch or just to set down for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. They also have a mini grocery where you can buy German products excluding meats, cheeses and fresh breads. Oh and don't for get pastries.

Top 2 pastry spot in Indy. Owners are super kind. Saturday's can get a little busy so be patient.

Heidelberg Haus is a slice of German Bliss in Indy 🇩🇪
Every visit to Heidelberg Haus has been a delicious detour into joy. Whether we're sitting down for a cozy bite or picking up one of their decadent cakes for a special occasion, this gem never disappoints.
The food and desserts are consistently delicious. My wife always raves about the Black Forest cake—rich, chocolatey, and perfectly layered. My personal favorite is the Yellow Cake with Rum Fudge and Caramel Butter Cream icing. It’s got the kind of flavor that makes you close your eyes and do the happy fork dance. Yes, that's a thing now.
Beyond the baked brilliance, the shop itself is a treasure trove of unique gifts and German groceries. From quirky trinkets to authentic imports, every shelf feels curated with care and charm.
What seals the deal? The outstanding service. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. And the pricing? Surprisingly reasonable, especially for the high quality. You leave full—in both stomach and spirit—but your wallet doesn’t feel ambushed.

Always a good weiner, potato salad the best. The service is always friendly and cheerful. Not to mention the baked goods and all the nic naks, its like stepping into Germany.

Great service, did not take long at all to get our food. The food was really good, no one was disappointed. Restrooms were pretty clean, and the walls had funny plaques on them. Would come here again.

One of the best restaurants in the city! I've been coming here for 30 years, and they're still going strong! Bring a hearty appetite and appreciation for a good bratwurst!

Cute idea but restaurant is filled with some useless nicknacks not relevant to the theme. Food was not something to talk about. Deserts looked really good tho. It was nice to get European candy and see some neat German things.

Having a bad day and stopped by on a whim. I forgot how delish everything is and how nice people are. The pretzel was warmed up even though I was getting it to go. SO delicious!!! Ate 1/2 before I could even take the picture. They are a local business and love to be able to support our small/local businesses!

This is where you go when you WANT some good desserts or tasty pastries with coffee, and you can also get lunch - pick your German sausage. I love this place and the folks behind it in the Würst way.
