I have been going in there for years. Mainly breakfast but occasionally lunch. I love the place.
I was in there about 4 weeks ago finishing up when a couple came in right at closing time. The couple got pissed because they wanted to sit in a section that was being cleaned. When they did not get their way they got pissed and yelled out and left. If I was the owner I wouldn’t let them in the establishment. Just a fake lawsuit waiting to happen. Stay home lady misery loves company.

I had a great experience at Hotcakes Emporium Pancake House & Restaurant on Bluff Road. The food was delicious, especially the pancakes. They were fluffy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The menu has a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, so there’s something for everyone.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The portion sizes were generous, definitely worth the price.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get quite busy at times, which means the wait can be a little long. But overall, it’s definitely one of the best spots in Indianapolis for breakfast or brunch.

Came here for the first time and it was excellent. So many menu choices from breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The food was great, hot fresh and cooked with love. Service was exceptional. Establishment was very clean and tidy. I highly recommend.

Showed up 15 minutes before closing — I know that’s not ideal, but technically, you’re still open. However, it looked like the place had already been shut down for a while. If your hours say you're open until 3, then you should stay open until 3. Really disappointing, especially since I just wanted a club sandwich — no grill needed.

It was a nice place to eat, the food was good, the place is just a basically breakfast place. Prices was good and it wasnt to crowded we got seated as soon as we entered.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hot Cakes Emporium on Southport and Bluff is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Indy. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the staff is incredible — friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. You truly feel taken care of every time you go.

My wife had the Greek omelet with a side of fruit and absolutely loved it. I had the gyro sandwich with fries, and let me just say — on point! The gyro is easily my favorite in Indianapolis, and the tzatziki sauce is just perfect.

This time, we also tried the French toast — and wow. If there’s a gold standard for French toast, this is it. Perfectly golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with just the right touch of cinnamon. The syrup ties it all together — smooth, sweet, and buttery without being too heavy. It’s the kind of breakfast you don’t forget.
And the fries… I can't say enough about the fries. Hot, crispy, golden perfection every single time. I seriously LOVE them.

We’ve had their pancakes on other visits too, and they’re always top-notch. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s one of the best breakfast and brunch spots around!
