It’s not the bartenders that are rude, but the manager. Charging $15 cover at 1:27am and stop entertainment at 1:45am is not a good look. Spent $60 for 4 people and bought 4 drinks and 4 shots. When they stopped the music, I asked for my money back as $60 for not even 20 mins worth of entertainment is ridiculous! Talked to the manager and asked for my money back and he acted like I was the in the wrong. Telling me I was there for 45min like I’m dumb. My bank statement shows we arrived at 1:27am. Worst management EVER! I would never recommend this place!

Howl at the Moon is amazing! First time there, office Christmas party. Our group had the best time! Our server Allison and bartender Bob were the best as was our rep Allison - we will be back!

Music was terrible! Artist not very animated and the sound quality was horrible! Been to a few Howl at the Moon’s and this one by far the worst! Could barely hear the vocals and the guys were very BORING! Won’t be back. Worst location yet!
Def need to redo their sound system!!!!

Great live music from some of the oldies to today. Talent plays here.

We came in from Detroit to watch the Lions play at Lucas Oil and stopped at Howl at the Moon after the game. Wow! It was the best time we had in a long time. The band was great and the atmosphere was electric. Definitely recommend it if you want to have a memorable night out!

We've been to Howl at the Moon in three other cities. We were very excited to visit for our anniversary. We tried to purchase tickets for the rail - the website said for same day reservations to call. My husband called and was told to register on the website. He received an automated confirmation email that his request has been received at 3:00pm and he would be contacted. At 8:00pm he had not been contacted so he called again and was unable to hear what was being said. We decided to go anyway as previously we had always eventually found a seat. We paid our covers to get in, to discover that the location was clearly over its maximum occupancy and they should not have continued to let people pay to get in until a couple dozen people left. The floor was crowded enough, but the upper level between the bar top and the railing was packed so tightly that, while I am very slender, no one could move out of the way and you literally had to go through sideways and your front and back rubbed against total strangers. When we entered, several patrons were leaving the stage and a new group was brought up to celebrate a birthday. The rendition of Head Shoulders Knees and Toes lasted 6 full minutes and was quite obnoxious. That group then left the stage and a few more patrons were brought on, then the band began playing a song I couldn't place because the sound design was so poor I couldn't clearly hear the female singer. We decided to leave after only 10 minutes as this was not the high quality, live music-focused entertainment we came to expect and it was so miserably crowded we were unwilling to give it any more time. After our previous experiences and the rave reviews this location had, I was quite crushed. Howl at the Moon was one of two reasons we picked Indianapolis to celebrate our anniversary.

One Star (and that’s being generous)

This is not a Karaoke bar as I expected.

I recently visited Howl at the Moon Indianapolis, expecting a fun night out covered by a vendor. Instead, I was blindsided at the door and told to pay for cover myself, despite being promised it would be taken care of. Strike one.

Once inside, I decided to make the best of it and ordered a drink. Big mistake. Not only was it overpriced, but it was also one of the worst cocktails I’ve ever had. Weak, tasteless, and clearly thrown together with zero care.

It became clear that this establishment is just after your money with minimal service and barely any effort. If you’re looking for a fun night out with decent service, avoid Howl at the Moon—plenty of other places in Indy actually care about their guests.
