Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse

Friday December 6th, 2025 - Our party of four had a 5:30 reservation and placed our simple dinner orders (burgers) at 5:45 PM with a strict 7:00 PM departure time in mind. While drinks and appetizers were fine, an hour passed with no main courses despite repeated checks with our waiter. When we escalated the issue to the manager at 6:45 PM, instead of addressing the delay, he disputed our timeline and dismissed our frustration entirely. He claimed the kitchen only received the order 23 minutes prior, an obvious falsehood. With no food in sight and no apology or compensation offered for the service failure, we walked out hungry. Appalling service and a complete failure of management.

We had an amazing evening thanks to Tony and Logan! They went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely meal.

Joseph was our server and he was excellent, attentive and friendly! The food, especially our steaks, we had the Porterhouse and the filet mignon and they cut like butter and tasted even better. Don't leave without trying the Flaming butter cake, wow in presentation and taste! Amazing wine and spirit selection and we were there in a live music night and the musician performed on piano with classic songs, great vibe and beautiful to listen to! We will be back!

Service was good, food was delicious and the music was also great. Maybe just a little loud where we sat. It made it difficult to carry on a conversation but other than that we had a great time. Would definitely recommend.

This “used” to be one of our favorite steak houses in Indy. But sadly, the service we experienced last night won't cause us to return anytime soon. No valet was present when we arrived at 6:30, we waited 15 minutes before we could find our waitress and get just a drink order in, and another 15 before we could order dinner. The food is always outstanding but it should be for the price point they operate in. But another 15 minutes to get our check all while the restaurant seemed very slow with the employees chatting at the bar. Just a disappointing experience for spending $285 for a dinner for 2. It may be because on our previous visits, the service was exceptional.

We were highly impressed with our meal from Hyde Park Prime. My husband literally just said "I'm still thinking about my steak and that chicken!" We decided to share entrees because as soon as I saw the description on the Chicken Milanese (hopefully I've got the spelling right) I was sold and couldn't get it out of my mind, but obviously had come for a steak! The chicken was so good, and just a warning, it was 4 thinner cut pieces of chicken, so even with sharing we still came home with 2 pieces of chicken. My husband ordered the ribeye. Perfectly cooked and so flavorful! None of the steak made it home with us. For sides we had the Brussels sprouts so we could pretend to be healthy, and whipped garlic potatoes. They were generous portions and both delicious! We will definitely be back again the next time we have a downtown Indy date night!

We celebrated my daughter 16th birthday here. This place is wonderful. The food is A1 the staff is awesome and the overall experience is so pleases. Hyde Park is the crown jewel of Indianapolis in everyway. I am not being biased because it has my last name on the building...lol. Truly folks this is a great place.

The ambiance is great and the live music behind the bar is wonderful. However, the service was extremely slow. Waited 30 mins for oysters appetizer and an additional hour for main course and it wasn't very busy. It took 45 mins to get a glass of wine. They had run out of baked potatoes before 7:30pm and this is a steak house. My wife's lobster tail was dried up. Bill came in over $300. Definitely not worth the value. Will not come here again or recommend.

We came here to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The food was excellent and the service was even better. The staff went above and beyond to make our daughter feel special! It was an amazing night! Thank you!!

The host at the front door was not so welcoming. He seemed sad or like he did not want to be there.

15th anniversary dinner... Tony & Chelsea were awesome servers! Our first time to dine here; we will come back again!

We had incredible food and service before the Eric Church concert. Love the smoked old fashioned's!

Had a birthday dinner for my wife and I. 10/10 great food awesome service! We each got a complementary lamb lollipop and they gave her a free dessert with candle!
