Indianapolis Fire Department Station 1

I just called because I smelled gas in my all electric house, as well as outside. I called non-emergency but two whole fire trucks showed up at my house anyway in less than 5 minutes. These guys were ready for action and I feel terrible. I was expecting someone from the gas company to inspect a computer screen and maybe drive through the neighborhood. I'm sorry for taking up valuable resources. Props to these guys for being so timely and friendly, regardless of what turned out to be a frivolous call from me. Don't abuse resources!

Where is the administration office phone number or a number to a PIO?. In addition,why is this something I need to hunt for? Are you top secret like IMPD is with their hidden numbers?

These fireman made me loose faith in humanity. We were treated with zero empathy or kindness. They left without attempting to help us which left us stranded in a park until 1:30am in a rain and lightning storm. They put our lives at risk by leaving without even attempting to help us. The two men circled were nasty and raised their voice aggressively at me when I begged for their help.

Grateful for your service. But holy cow, an engine just went eastbound on W 64th St 6:30pm 8/10/21 through a blind curve marked at 25mph going at least 45mph. Thank heaven no one was stopped at Hazelwood to turn into the apartments. Or pulling out of Hazelwood onto 64th St.

Our water heater in our apartment complex caught on fire. Everyone got out safely. Due to poor management is the reason it happened. The fire department came within 10 minutes, and got it under control. They even talked to our maintenance themselves, and told them what they needed to do to fix it. They were all very kind & polite to me and kept thanking me for me calling, because it could of gone bad. I just can’t thank them enough for what they did. As a daughter of a firefighter, my heart was very happy!

Thank you, thank you !! The fine members of the fire department responded to a cardiac arrest at the Hyatt hotel downtown. Fast, Profesional and life savers. No words can express how thankful we are that a life was saved. Thank you !! Stay safe.

Very nice fire station

I just wanted to say thank you to IFD station 35 for coming out and checking a potential gas leak at my house. They advised me to contact citizens gas who found 3 gas leaks near two appliances and another leak in the main gas line that runs through my house. They were very professional and extremely friendly. Thank you again!

An employee of theirs, Matt Shaffer, uses incredibly offensive and racist slurs. He claims he “loves the kkk”. Action needs to be taken immediately! I do not feel safe.

The most wonderful group of people that are Truly Only Here To Help You!! They may not have a break to even eat or sleep.Could be 98 or 10 below zero,noon or 4am regardless your gonna get performance and care and they only want to make sure everyone reaches a safe space and all is ok!So if you see them at work step out of the way and maybe take em a cup of coffee or a bottle of water maybe say appreciate it!!If your every out and you need some help go in any fire station in this city and know your safe and help is right in front of you!

I had to be rescued from the second floor during a fire. They literally saved my life.
