Took our 92 year old mother for her birthday. We had a great time learning about Japanese food and cooking techniques. Also gained insight into many aspects of Asian culture. Would definitely recommend taking the Intro to Sushi Making class! Thanks Mori!
Had an amazing experience cooking with my pretty lady. Mauri (sorry if I misspelled), was amazing to work with and very accommodating! Even with my hatred towards vegetables, every dish we made was delicious. Learned a bunch and plan to go back to learn even more
Mori is a fantastic teacher! We had a wonderful time learning some Japanese table etiquette and getting a great intro to making sushi. Such a fun class from a cool funny teacher
To anyone thinking of booking; Take this class!! We took the street food course and we learned so much more than just street food recipes. We even made a delicious cake and miso soup! During our time, she taught us a lot about Japanese culture. We learned chopstick do’s and dont’s too! I was so impressed with her extensive knowledge, and she was so funny at the same time. I will definitely be coming back for another course! Thank you, Mori!
My friends surprised me with a sushi making class with Mari and it was a blast! She was so accommodating towards our food restrictions and absolutely so much fun. She is very knowledgeable and provides historical context in a fun way! Absolutely recommend it!!
Honestly, this was one of the funnest experiences I've had in a while! We did this as a date night and it was literally so much fun! Mori is great! She is so funny and made learning about chopsticks a fun time. I get that I'm repeating the word "fun" a lot in this review and I'm not a wordsmith but that's the best word to describe this, it was was so much fun! Also, the food was delicious!! We will definitely be making spring rolls at home because we learned from her AND she sent us the recipes afterwards! Freaking fabulous! Again, highly recommend this!!! If you are in Indianapolis or visiting, this is what you should do!
Thank you for the experience. We're excited to try some of the techniques we've learned!
My husband and I did the sushi class. We absolutely loved it and our bellies were full from the delicious sushi, miso soup and spring rolls BUT Mori's personality and light humor really hit it home for us.
Went for a birthday present, and it was absolutely wonderful! We were educated about the history and culture behind the food, and got to eat our tasty morsels! Our instructor was funny and a great teacher! We did the sushi class, but I can’t wait to take the street food course!
My wife and I took a class on ramen and potstickers, we didn't realize we would be learning about table etiquette and deeper parts of Japanese culture, which was a nice surprise. Mori was welcoming and fun. Class was designed around basic entry level. The feeling was pretty laid back, a lot of conversations and stories along with learning some fun cooking techniques and how to source good ingredients at nearby stores.

Brought my partner here for his birthday and what a treat! Mori is so knowledgable and easy going. There was a delicate balance of eating, chatting, standing, sitting, and most importantly...laughing and having a great time! I cannot recommend this class enough. We felt at home with Mori, yet it was as if we paid for a collegiate level class. With much respect to her family and culture, you can trust your experience will be unmatched with any other cooking class.
We took her Japanese street food class and had a fantastic time. It was a relaxed setting and she including some great cultural information along with cooking. We will absolutely be going back for one of the other classes. It’s not cheap (though considering how much food we prepped it’s really only a little bit more than going to a restaurant) but we left with very full and happy bellies, recipes we’re going to make again, and a fun experience. Totally worth it.
Our host Mori was equal parts entertaining and knowledgeable. Food and hands on experience was top notch. Her style, food and instructions are approachable and delightfully irreverent. Can't wait to try another class.
I’m not sure where to start. My husband is absolutely fascinated by the Japanese Culture. I decided to get him a sushi making class for his birthday. He is currently learning to speak the language. We spoke with the instructor so long on the language (she even used flash cards to quiz him!), talked about the food, the culture, that we actually ran out of time to make the sushi. However, the company was amazing, she made us incredible meal, and she is now our “Japanese Mom.” We left just an hour ago and I’m already sitting in bed eating a piece of the cake that was sent home with us. I have a whole new appreciation for the culture and I couldn’t be happier with how happy my husband was for his birthday! Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the cherry on top of a wonderful birthday weekend ?
My girlfriend and I had an awesome experience learning how to make Japanese street food, and I truly appreciated learning about the intersection of culture and cuisine. I’ll definitely be back for another course!
