Thank you for the experience. We're excited to try some of the techniques we've learned!

My husband and I did the sushi class. We absolutely loved it and our bellies were full from the delicious sushi, miso soup and spring rolls BUT Mori's personality and light humor really hit it home for us.

Went for a birthday present, and it was absolutely wonderful! We were educated about the history and culture behind the food, and got to eat our tasty morsels! Our instructor was funny and a great teacher! We did the sushi class, but I can’t wait to take the street food course!

My wife and I took a class on ramen and potstickers, we didn't realize we would be learning about table etiquette and deeper parts of Japanese culture, which was a nice surprise. Mori was welcoming and fun. Class was designed around basic entry level. The feeling was pretty laid back, a lot of conversations and stories along with learning some fun cooking techniques and how to source good ingredients at nearby stores.

Brought my partner here for his birthday and what a treat! Mori is so knowledgable and easy going. There was a delicate balance of eating, chatting, standing, sitting, and most importantly...laughing and having a great time! I cannot recommend this class enough. We felt at home with Mori, yet it was as if we paid for a collegiate level class. With much respect to her family and culture, you can trust your experience will be unmatched with any other cooking class.

We took her Japanese street food class and had a fantastic time. It was a relaxed setting and she including some great cultural information along with cooking. We will absolutely be going back for one of the other classes. It’s not cheap (though considering how much food we prepped it’s really only a little bit more than going to a restaurant) but we left with very full and happy bellies, recipes we’re going to make again, and a fun experience. Totally worth it.

I’m not sure where to start. My husband is absolutely fascinated by the Japanese Culture. I decided to get him a sushi making class for his birthday. He is currently learning to speak the language. We spoke with the instructor so long on the language (she even used flash cards to quiz him!), talked about the food, the culture, that we actually ran out of time to make the sushi. However, the company was amazing, she made us incredible meal, and she is now our “Japanese Mom.” We left just an hour ago and I’m already sitting in bed eating a piece of the cake that was sent home with us. I have a whole new appreciation for the culture and I couldn’t be happier with how happy my husband was for his birthday! Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the cherry on top of a wonderful birthday weekend ?

My girlfriend and I had an awesome experience learning how to make Japanese street food, and I truly appreciated learning about the intersection of culture and cuisine. I’ll definitely be back for another course!

We were looking for an alternative event for a team building / get-to-know-each-other event and found Katsumi’s Teaching Kitchen online. We had such a wonderful time and so much laughter! The Summer rolls and California rolls, Miso soup, and cake were delicious, and we were taught all about how the quality of rice and its preparation lays the foundation for really good sushi. We also learned how to create a wonderful Umami flavor in our Miso soup.Mori also taught us about Japanese cuisine and culture but most of all, we had an absolute blast that evening and I cannot remember when the last time was that I laughed this hard and for so long.Thank you, Mori, for the super fun evening!

Very educational! We learned about ingredients, cooking, culture, etiquette, and more! Everything we made was super tasty, especially the rice and the cake. Mori is very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend for anyone interested in learning about Japanese cooking or is enthusiastic about Japanese culture.

My husband and I love Japanese food so I was looking for a Sushi making class for Valentine's Day. And I'm so glad I found Mori and Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen online because it truly was a wonderful experience. Mori is absolutely hilarious and had us laughing the entire evening. She also shared with us her wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about Japanese cuisine and culture. The food we learned to make was delicious - the type of rice and method of preparation really makes a difference in the taste and texture of sushi. We especially liked learning how to make spring rolls with peanut sauce - it was surprisingly easy! This weekend we plan to visit the Japanese mart in Castleton to buy items to make our own sushi at home. Thank you Mori for the guidance and an exciting evening of Japanese cooking!

My daughter and I attend the intro to sushi making class a couple of weeks ago. It was so much fun! Mori was informative and a great host. We made the same recipes at home last weekend. Yum! I would highly recommend this experience.

My wife and I recently attended this class and we had a wonderful time. We wanted to learn how to prepare and roll sushi (which we did), but also learned how to make spring rolls, miso soup, a dessert, and even learned a bit about chopstick etiquette as well as some general history. Mori was delightful and humorous. We certainly plan on coming back for another class.

I gifted the class for my girlfriend for Christmas. It turned into a perfect date night. We had so much fun making the food. The instructor was knowledgeable and relaxed the class with her easy going personality. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in Japanese food.
