Went there for dinner and had the margarita pizza and a salad. It was delicious! Everything was fresh and tasty. The pizza is not thick but the crust was.
Great service and it was quick. Recommend checking it out when you’re in Indy.

Overly detailed review incoming:
My husband and I are from Nebraska, and we were in Indianapolis for GenCon. We had just spent our last day in town at the nearby antique market and went to King Dough for dinner.
First green flag I saw was they had The Return of the King playing up on the TV 😅 (big LotR nerd, here). Then I saw pride and trans positive decor and I knew we were in a good place.
Our server was incredibly sweet, and very patient with us, as we'd wanted to sit outside, but the setting sun kept trying to roast us, so we asked to move tables.
-To our server, if you're reading this, you are a doll, and I forgot to tell you how much I loved your style 💛

Next, the food: we got the sticky stix and ended up ordering a side of the lemon basil vinaigrette (normally goes on one of the salads) to dip them in. Incredible. They were so good!! For pizza, we ended up getting the Destroyer, which was also fantastic. I wish we could have stayed in town a couple more days so we could've tried more things on the menu, but I guess that just means we have to go back next year!
After we finished eating, we were not ready to leave (also you don't just leave in the middle of The Return of the King 🤷🏻‍♀️) so we went up to the bar to sit and have a few more drinks. The bartender was so friendly and kind.
-girl, if you're reading this, thanks for nerding out with us over LotR lol, and putting up with us sitting there for a couple hours. I know you were super busy, so we really appreciated your time. Also, thanks for the olives 🤤

We stayed until they closed (movie ended right as they closed, so the timing was perfect) and it was the perfect cap to a great vacation.

TL;DR: the food was delicious, the staff was incredible, and we are definitely going to eat here the next time we're in Indianapolis.

I’m old enough to remember getting Bazbeaux downtown when it was just a few years old. Am also still a Pizzology fan (have frequented since inception)— am not so much a Napolese fan, but Neapolitan style is my favorite. Have had it locally and around the world.

That said, King Dough has become my Indy-area favorite (aside from old-faithful Roselli’s for deep dish) after several return visits

KD has very good crust/flour, wood-fired, and generous basil on the Margheritas, which is always a big plus, particularly compared to other basil-stingy places.

I’m not a meat pizza person, but their Destroyer is verrry good— try the vegan sausage. And Mikes hot honey is a great unique additive on their menu in general.

Finally, the Highland Avenue location is wonderful. How did they score this special location?!

Would love to see King Dough do better on their Carmel location though… the Carmel location makes me think of all of the other Yat’s locations compared to the original Yat’s location in Broadripple. it’s just not the same experience.

Not sure what the blue stuff on the pizza is 😭. Have ordered this same pizza many times and never seen this.

Ordered two pizzas for a family of four and also to try a variety. One vegan pie, one meat pie. Food was average, nothing bad, but not spectacular. Service was average, not too slow for a busy night.

Many interesting combinations. Their 14in and a salad is easily enough for 1-2 people.

My daughter & I were in town for a convention. My daughter picked this place for the Gluten Free Crust and the Vegan Options. WOW! the food was amazing, the service is outstanding. The truffle fries are incredible (best eaten first thing while they are HOT)

Everything was delicious. We had the cauliflower wings with sesame hot honey sauce, the sticky sticks, shop salad, and the Destroyer pizza. We loved everything! Our server was fantastic as well! We will definitely be back, that pizza was unforgettable!

Their gluten free dough was DELICIOUS and there were lots of vegan options. The cashew ricotta was also so good, I wish I lived closer so I could eat this pizza more often!

We have been meaning to go here since they opened. On father's day weekend, we finally went.... And oh boy was it magnificent. Since then we have made it a weekly ritual. It is the best pizza in Indy. We also always order the firecracker wings. They are unbelievable and a different kind of spicy. Not hot like chili peppers and not hot like horseradish or wasabi. It's a third kind of heat. Thursday and Sunday have five dollar drafts, which is always nice. Lots of parking and accessible.

My first experience here was great! Pizza looked and tasted delicious. My second visit wasn’t that great. Pizza was made very sloppy. Crust was thinner than last time, so thin that there was a hole in part of it. Taste was decent not amazing. Just seemed rushed, might stop again if in the area.🤷🏽‍♂️
