Kroger w Washington St In Indy has the most unfriendly and rude associates. Even the managers and the security cop just sits there. Even at the Pharmacy there is a couple of unfriendly ones

I normally don't do large chains. However, I do make exceptions for the stores that over either above and beyond or well below. This store in particular is the later. It is on the lower end of Krogers that I have been to. First, I should have known something was up when I pulled into the parking lot and saw the huge security camera in the middle. Then there was the police detail that was posted inside. Another sign of things to come should have been that there were no shopping carts in the store. They were all outside. They have a large parking, lot but it is dirty and has kind of a smelly order. On a brighter note, they do have a gas station that is just off the parking lot, where you can use your loyalty membership to get some discounts on petroleum for your vehicle. The store was not very clean and the staff was not very friendly. No one said hi, or any other greeting. Not even the woman that checked me out. She did not even speak to me. It was a very weird feeling in there. I know we had just had a huge winter storm, so I did not expect much on the shelves, and it wasn't, so I will not hold that against them. I will assume that is not their norm until proven otherwise. I was in the area on other business so I decided to run in here and get the few items I needed. If I had it to do all over again, I would probably pass this one up and hit the one closer to my house. I would recommend avoiding this Kroger if you can, even if this happens to be your local one.

Yes I was going to comment about this the day I got donuts but didn't have time to do that your donuts are as hard as a brick bat. I can go to the Krogers Bakery on Kentucky avenue and there's are fresh and not hard. Next time I will go to Long's Donuts the next time.

FIrst visit to this store. Even though it's not the nicest Kroger I;'ve ever been in, it was a great experience. Every single employee I interacted with was polite, professional, helpful and friendly! The last 3 who were close during my check-out all thanked me, wished me a good day, etc. After reading the earlier reviews, i would have to say that management actually listened and worked to make this store much more user friendly. Happy employees are GREAT employees. Nicely done.

Someone is confused, wrong sign. Floor had food all over it. And lines are incredible long. And it's next to impossible to get from the car to the store without someone begging for money.

Avoid if possible !! This is not a friendly store and the turnover rate must be massive.. From the time I entered the doors, I wanted to leave!

Crackheads inside and outside.

This the absolute worst Kroger in Indy. I've bought and returned meat to this store several times. I stopped after seeing a pallet of ground beef left by the cooler for over 30 minutes. They should seriously be investigated for selling tainted meat. Went there tonight at 10pm and there was 30 people in line and one cashier with a rentacop sidekick looking at everyone like they were thieves. Horrible establishment

Oh geez, this location. I mean it's just sad, the building looks abandoned. Today walking in.. it LITERALLY smelled like a sewer. It hits you in the parking lot and where they put the carts.. the smell is just disgusting. It's so gross and it usually just smells anyway like musty - I hate to bring my kids with me to this one. About a month ago some guy was passed out drunk or had OD'd on the bench under the seating where it says "drugstore" the employees usually sit there instead it was full blown ambulance and a million cops when we were walking out. It's just trash and this building fits right in. To bad too, the employees here seem nice. Kroger on Crawfordsville is such a nice grocery.. this one could learn a few things. I'd drive outta your way just to go to another one if I were you!

I live close by it's the only reason I shop there but if I have to do a large selection of grocery shopping it is at other stores other than Kroger's because to tell you the truth Kroger's on W. Washington St., Kroger's at Kentucky Avenue and Kroger's in Speedway are all disgusting and the Kroger's on Rockville Road is too high priced! We need another grocery store near this Kroger's to give them some competition so they will at least try to clean up their act!

Hate this location. Nearly every time I go in their is some drug addiction walking around eating food they have yet to purchase. This past weekend I went to get a cake for my husband and waited in front of the bakery for 10 minutes while the deli man served the lady that was before me. As that lady walked away another lady walked up and the gentleman looked at her and asked her how he could help her. That man completely disregarded me standing there and offered me no help until I interrupted him and demanded assistance. I have worked at Kroger before, in the deli, so I personally know that when someone shows up at the bakery if there is no bakery staff available at that moment you at least address the person waiting and offer to help, or find someone to help. The staff is lazy and rude, and typically spend their entire time flirting with each other and playing on phones as opposed to working or assisting customers. Any time I go to this store I leave disappointed. If I could give negative stars I would.

Well its my own stupidity that I went back there . But the simple story is there is a stench in this store from obvious neglect. I made purchases without looking at the sell by day. Which was at first just my own ignorance. Two of the products were out of date. Took it back no problem. Then about a month later my stupidity took over and I bought some things. Tasted my juice. Spit it out. Check the sell by date. It was 2 months overdue. This is carelessness and could be potentially harmful to the patrons . must say I will avoid from now on.

I am surprised to see 2.5 overall stars here, but to each their own. Here's my two cents: This Kroger and the one in Speedway seem to be competing for worst store award. I think this one is gaining on Speedway. This location is on my way home and thought I would stop in for just a few things and get out. I have never liked this store but figured just a few items wouldn't be so bad. Self checkout was quite the experience tonight. No attendant within my line of sight. When he, Patrick, finally made an appearance, he was goofing off on what sounded like a personal phone call, really yucking it up. When that call ended, I asked for his assistance. He gave me this wide-eyed obnoxious look, arching his neck toward me. What a piece of work this character was. I ignored it and explained the kind of apples I was purchasing were not on the checkout list. He lifted up the bag, showed me the barcode I had missed and proceeded to SLAM the apples in a bag. Figuring they were surely bruised now, I told him I no longer wanted them. His response was "oh geeze" and then he voided them. I can only hope this nut job is not representative of the employees in that store, but I have a hunch he is.

Good selection of food compared to other stores I've shopped at. Plus it's cheap and convenient for me. Usually I can get right in and out even when it seems busy. I would definitely recommend this Kroger if you live in the area.
