This place nails it. It’s everything you want Taco Bell to be, but better. The burritos are massive—seriously, bigger than your head. My steak burrito had a bit too much lettuce, but overall the flavor was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful, and the hot sauces (green and brown) were both delicious.
They even serve authentic bottled Mexican Coca-Cola, and prices are very reasonable for the size and quality of the food. It feels like a local family-run fast food spot, even though it’s actually a small multi-location chain. Service was fast, the food was tasty, and it’s absolutely worth driving a few minutes off the highway to stop here. Highly recommend.

I don't get all these reviews that claim these places are the best they've ever eaten. This place is like so many others where the food doesn't taste bad necessarily, but is super bland and dry. My burrito I could barely taste the steak and it was full of lettuce. The tacos bread were all sad but the lengua and beef were the only meats that were simewhat juicy and flavorful. Overall heavily mediocre I'm still on the search for authentic Mexican made with passion. Mid at best.

I may tell you I'm traveling up to the beaches around Lake Michigan, but in reality I'm looking for a reason to visit La Bamba. The service and care taken on the orders is always evident. Nothing against teenagers, but I've never seen a youngling working here. Only people with experience making solid Mexican food. You can ask for avocado added and it's scooped right out fresh. There are also pickled spicy carrots and a new hot sauce. I recommend the lengua tacos. A favorite!

My parents have been going to La Bamba since it was at 86th St. I have grew up with this place and it has never disappointed. They always have excellent service.

This is the Mexican food equivalent of a great dive bar. The prices are fair, the portions are large and the food is delicious. I have a naustalgia love of it too, having gone to their Columbus Ohio location when I was a student there. I tried the steak burrito, the chorizo burrito, the rice and beans. All we're great, just as I remembered them. My wife also got the horchata, which she very much enjoyed.

This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The food was extremely low quality, and the chips tasted like stale bagged grocery store chips.. not fresh or restaurant-grade at all. Not only was it low quality, but you could taste the hate. I'm tempted to drive to the location to see if it's even a real restaurant. I suspect this is a ghost kitchen or fake restaurant operating under deceptive branding. It should not be listed alongside legitimate establishments.

Ordered a super burrito they say is as big as your head. That's because there is a head of lettuce inside but not much else. After I pulled out a handful of the lettuce the burrito looks like a long taquito. The pic is after I pulled off a bunch of the tortilla which is a double wrap it with to make it bigger, and a bunch of the lettuce. This is not worth $12 The second picture is a $4 taco that I bought that's not worth that because it looks like it is tiny . And lastly the pork taste g.ross. I am so sick of getting shitty food in restaurants and they expect you to pay for it. Will not be back.
