This is a nice coffee shop (and bake house) on College Avenue! Their latte had a very smooth texture and I ended up sipping on 2 cups. This is coming from an occasional latte drinker. Their pastries and bread are great too. They have a huge (!!) German chocolate cake slice that I’m looking forward to try. The atmosphere/ ambience is Ok-ish.

If you have a short meet up or want to explore coffee shops in the Indy area, I recommend visiting this place.

Leviathan Bakehouse is an absolute treasure! The Lemon-Cinnamon Braid was nothing short of perfection—light, flaky, and bursting with flavor. Paired with a seasonal latte that was perfectly crafted, it made for a delightful treat. If you’re a fan of locally made coffee and artisan pastries, this is the place to be. The attention to detail in every bite and sip is remarkable, and the warm, welcoming vibe makes it even better. Don’t miss this spot!

Top notch bakery. Excellent bake on all products. There are too many bakeries that under bake their offerings. Not this place. Crisp tasty pastry!!

The first time I had the vegetarian breakfast sandwich was a spiritual experience. I think maybe it changes seasonally, so while it’s always good, it isn’t always PERFECT, ya know? But it’s messy and flavorful and the perfect way to start a weekend morning.

I have had many of their pastries (purchased from local coffee shops that carry them) and each one has been a delight!

The lattes are okay. They’re on the pricier side and always too sweet for my taste.

Cute place, really friendly service, underwhelming food and coffee.

Coffees were super bitter and they used an oat milk that does not pair well with coffee and has a weird aftertaste. (Lots of oat milks have the problem.) Coffee with regular milk lacked the weird flavor but still incredibly bitter.

Breakfast sandwich was fine, and the biscuits and gravy was enjoyable because I’d never make it at home, but also just fine in the end.

Again, the staff was fantastic and were super friendly… but overall an underwhelming meal.

The staff, food, and coffee drinks here are incredible! Just steps from the Monon, Leviathan has an outstanding neighborhood vibe and the staff are friendly and dedicated to their craft of serving great drinks, food, breads and pastries. The quiche—regardless of the seasonal version—is out of this world! The crust is perfection and the filling tender. It’s hard to go wrong with any of the pastries but the pain chocolate, pain suisse, hand pies, and kouign aman. The baristas here are first rate and they serve local roasters Blue Mind coffee. If you’re accustomed to large-chain hyper-sweet coffee drinks, you won’t find that here. Menu items are prepared to order. If you’re in a hurry, you may want to visit when you’re not hurried. Food & drinks can take some time. The outdoor seating area is pet friendly. There are limited parking spots in front on College and angled spots along 11th. There’s an unfinished lot at the end of 11th, as well as parking along 11th on the opposite side of the College.

Driving by in the past I only noticed a crowd and thought it was just a coffee shop. Au contrare mon frère...it's so much more. The bakery items were stellar, maximum finesse and less sweet than everything Midwest (had something lemon cardamom that actually tasted like a lemon glazed apple fritter, and something they pronounced kween-uh-mon which was gently caramel tasting but mostly impressive with flakey lamination . The coffee was good, the breakfast was better (tried the sandwich and polenta biscuits and chorizo gravy). We also took a loaf of marble rye home to accompany the pastrami my husband just made. Absolutely recommend 10 out of 10!

The food, coffee, and pastries are all phenomenal. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. One of my favorites is the vegetarian breakfast sandwich (and occasionally add bacon). Even when they are busy, the staff is usually on top of things and they keep everything moving along. The only frustrating thing is that other guests will occupy a four top table for one person and their laptop.

Kid-friendliness: High chairs available (usually in the back hallway)
