Mel's at Commission Row

Excellent service. Wonderful atmosphere. Perfect place for a night cap and/or to socialize with friends. Going downstairs give you some of the historical vibe of a Speakeasy. We loved it!

Friend and I wanted a place to get dolled up and visit. Went on 9.27.2024. The space is gorgeous and clean. We loved it was not crowded and we could sit anywhere. Music playlist was fantastic-old school hip hop and r&b. Volume was perfect because we could talk and still hear each other and the music. Bartender was spectacular. They made a customized drink for me. There were maybe two-four people there when we arrived. About an hour or so later maybe 11 more people showed up. When we ordered more drinks, I was told the one I requested earlier would take a very, very long time because they didn't have the alcohol I asked for left. I was told I could order it, but I wouldn't get it for a long time because of the crowd. However, I was asked if there was anything else on the menu I wanted. I got a drink and it was delicious. When we were provided the bill, the server apologized for being snappy and said they ran out of simple syrup. I didn't mind they ran out of simple syrup. It just made me think she made up a reason to not request the drink I wanted because they were busy. Just be honest. It just made omit a star for service.

Awesome place for a cocktail. Mel’s has great energy and relaxed feeling to the place. Highly recommend.

We have enjoyed Commission Row and one day decided to try Mel's for cocktails after dinner. The drinks were amazing. Then we decided to try it for dinner as well. If you like complex elevated cocktails and unique recipes, this place is for you. It's got everything, speakeasy chill vibes, modern decor, friendly and knowledgeable service, professionalism among staff, and delicious cuisine. Please do not order Tito's and soda or a rum and coke, save that for the game. Do try one of their signature drinks. I had the Chipmunk one, can't remember the full name but it was incredible, like nothing I've had before. My husband and I have tried others and they never disappoint! The food was amazing as well. Smash burger was top notch and the steak frites were perfectly cooked, flavorful and filling! Definitely a great place for drinks and a bite to eat before a Fever game!

Very neat space, great service. Creative cocktail list at relatively standard prices for 2024 ($70.63 for 3 drinks after tax & tip). The quick drinks before a show we had were very well executed. What really got me were the prices of spirits; a pour of Averna Amaro was $18! Jim Beam $14, Makers Mark $16. It's as though they have taken the retail price of a 750 mL bottle, cut that in half, and are charging that for a single pour. So for someone coming in with a craft cocktail-y group, who may simply want a whiskey coke, is out over $18 after tax and fair tip of 20%. This is in excess of concert/vegas/airport pricing. Completely out of reach for the whiskey coke patron. Maybe this is the goal? Someone from the industry want to come in for a shot & a beer before a show; $27-30 after tax & tip. I'm a very long time CRG member but I can't say that this will become a regular stop.

This is great new spot for cocktails and snacks. Very cool ambiance with classic and modern cocktails. Staff was very helpful and the food was great. Highly recommend for the start or end to an evening.

Awesome Atmosphere, the bartenders know what they are doing and are super knowledgeable about all drinks. And the drinks are incredible. Didn't have any food but I had to guess, it would be amazing too. Will definitely be back soon

We went for the candles and cocktails event put on by Mel's and Penn & Beech and had a phenomenal time. Cocktails were delicious, staff was friendly and attentive, and the candle idea was really fun!!

Greeted warmer upon arrival. Cool vibe with elevated cocktails. Food portions were large. We were able to order off of Commission Row and Mel's menu. Our server Bradley was able to answer all questions and gave in-depth details on drink ingredients.

Mel's is a great alternative to Commission Row for dinner. You can order from Mel's menu of Small Bites or ask to get something from the formal restaurant's menu. Mel's Smash Burger is delicious. The cocktails are great as well. It is atmospheric in the alcove area, but not really private. It's more dark than separate there and it is pretty noisy in the enclosed space. It's ideal before or after an event at Gainbridge.

Just celebrated my birthday at Mel's. We had a lovely experience and our server was very attentive and did an excellent job. We tried numerous items on the menu and everything was very good. We loved the pork rinds to start as well as the Hamachi Crudo and the shrimp cocktail. The smash burger was a favorite as well as the cauliflower steak. We also had 3 different cocktails that were all delightful as well as the wine that we tried. The ambience is wonderful and the entire place is beautiful. When we first arrived, they were very busy and it was slightly noisy. However, after a couple groups left, the noise level was perfect. We had a great experience and will definitely be back.

Great experience at Mel's for my wife Ms birthday. Service was unbeatable. The manager helped celebrate her birthday, the hostess was extremely friendly and accommodating, and our waiter went above and beyond with his service, knowledge, and recommendations.
