Mel's at Commission Row

Second time eating a Mel's and it was just as good as the first! Amazing staff and great food! Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Indy

Great drinks and food while befriended by restaurant manager Ian Saroyan, Mel's new manager, and by waiter Chewbacci, as we mourn the absence of the old bartender "El" (the personnel have become like family)!

Perfect modern speakeasy vibe. Coffee-rubbed short rib is incredible! We loved the entire experience.

Given the price point I was surprised ... No glassware for beer. Served in the can. Shrimp not firm or good Wine list average I would compliment the server however

We were hoping this would have been a good experience but it turned out to be awful. We waited for 30 mins or more for our drinks, which were order first, and our server was very hit or miss on taking care of us. I will say, we had the chicken sandwich and it was amazing! It took another 30 mins to get our check unfortunately. The restaurant was not busy at all so I would hate to see what it would be like on a regular day. Mel's did not live up to the hype!

We had a great experience at Mel's particularly the service from our waiter (Demetrie??) and the manager of the bar. The attention and respect they gave our party was admirable. This wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last visit

Everything was wonderful, looking forward to going back. The waiter was able to accommodate us with the dinner menu.

Very nice place to have a cocktail. My Old fashioned could have been better. The singer was the best part of the evening, incredible. The burger was was decent

Really nice place. Service was very friendly but rather slow. Cocktails were disappointing but limited menu was good. Will try again when not so busy.

Mel's is a great spot! We love it. The cool vibe, the fun cocktails and the upscale environment without being stuffy is what makes it so nice. The food is fantastic as well as the service!

The perfect place to grab a drink before dinner at Commission Row! We loved the ambiance, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming!

It was a cool space but food was just ok. Not worth a second visit with all the great places to choose from in the city.

Excellent food and bar selection at Mel's. Quiet corner tables or lively bar atmosphere available. Like a hidden gem downstairs!

Neat little place, would love to come back and hear the live music. Service was slow at times, but that's to be expected when the server has 4 other tables including a 10 top.

I'm not one to write reviews often. I worked for CRG as a waiter some years ago and was honestly disappointed in this experience. In this price point, you would expect a professional and smooth experience. The hostess was dressed strangely (oversized urban outfitters jacket?), the lights were flickering on and off the whole evening to where we ate in nearly in the dark, our waitress forgot 3 separate times on all 3 separate courses to bring silverware and the music would randomly and abruptly stop. For a $165 dinner, this was very disappointing. The ambience is great and the food was fine, but disappointing for CRG.
