We had an amazing time and the drinks were amazing. All of the bartenders were amazing but Shabaka really made the night for us!

Zach was amazing! From the second we sat down, he made us feel welcome and kept the vibe fun and relaxed. He recommended the coffee short rib and it was amazing, gave great drink recs, and honestly just made the whole experience so much better. Super friendly, attentive, and you can tell he cares about making sure everyone has a great time. If you go to Mel’s, hope you get Zach—he’s the best!

This place is pretty cool! I’ve had the opportunity to come in during slower hours and also when it is booming with customers and every time I am well taken care of. There is two awesome bartenders who are almost always there, Shabaka (who is such a cutie) and Heather. They are both well versed in cocktails and can always create exactly what my palette is wanting, their classic menu cocktails are delicious as well but I love to see what bartenders can create.
I will say food flavors have gone down a bit, as well as management has changed multiple times since they first opened but the drinks, my two favorite bartenders and the atmosphere with the live music down there have all gotten better and better!

Fantastic experience. In the midst of Gen Con, it provided a cozy getaway to celebrate my sister's birthday, which they participated in. A true gem.

After an amazing dinner upstairs, we stopped by Mel’s Speakeasy for a nightcap. The cocktails were fantastic — beautifully crafted and delicious. The space itself is truly captivating, with cozy, elegant décor and a unique, intimate vibe. Service was a bit less attentive than we’d hoped, but still friendly. Overall, a beautiful spot for a drink and a memorable way to end the evening!

Great drinks and food while befriended by restaurant manager Ian Saroyan, Mel's new manager, and by waiter Chewbacci, as we mourn the absence of the old bartender "El" (the personnel have become like family)!

Perfect modern speakeasy vibe. Coffee-rubbed short rib is incredible! We loved the entire experience.

Given the price point I was surprised ... No glassware for beer. Served in the can. Shrimp not firm or good Wine list average I would compliment the server however

5 star place. Great food and amazing atmosphere. Super chill.
