Have never visited Oakleys bistro, but, wow what a great restaurant! The decor is very inviting, but also very clean and kept up to date! The experience continued with amazing service and even better delicious food! I got the shrimp risotto , not only beautiful presentation, but amazing flavors that made the dish one of my favorites!!

Had a great dining experience. We were visiting Indianapolis and Oakley Bistro was recommended but we didn't know much about it. It's elevated comfort food and we enjoyed all 3 of the starters we shared and our main courses, particularly the duck and the meatloaf. This was called a hidden gem and sure enough it was.

Delicious food and excellent service. Their butternut squash soup is the best I've ever had anywhere in the US; it's so good that now I won't order it anywhere else. I eat here whenever I'm in Indianapolis.

We are huge fans of Chef Oakley and this visit was no difference. Our son lives in NY but when he comes home, he always wants to go back to Oakley's bistro. We also find something new to try every time. The lobster waffle was amazing and so was the halibut. Hope to be back soon.

Interesting dinner. Located about 20 minutes from downtown Indy in a strip center, so somewhat off the beaten path. Large interior, but seems a bit dated.
Menu is quite extensive, with lots of interesting choices. The plates lend themselves to sharing, so our party got to taste a fair number of things. The prime rib dumplings, pork belly skewers and halibut stood out for both flavor and culinary execution.
One of the distinguishing marks of most dishes is the sheer number of ingredients in each - dollops of this, a drizzle of that, a shaved or crumbled something. There’s a lot going on to be sure, and I’m not necessarily sure that’s always a good thing.
Menu prices are fair. Decent wine list (especially the value priced, well aged ‘Features’) but one of the two bottles and the glass of dessert wine we ordered turned out to be out of stock. Restaurant might consider a tablet to handle the selections so they can be kept up to date?
Server was friendly and offered good recommendations.

First off the presentation of the food was immaculate. Definitely the best presentation of food in Indianapolis. Everything I tried was not exactly what I thought it would be and that’s what made it interesting. Each thing on the menu has its own spin so if you are “open pallet-minded” you need to try this place.
