Our reservation last evening was disappointing. As usual, the food was very good. The cocktail were disappointing. My martini was just not good and the craft cocktail was the same. Both were maybe 3/4 full served in small glasses. The service was really bad. Each course was delivered no less than 30 minutes after we had finished the previous course. At first I thought it was due to staffing levels then realized other tables were better serviced. Our waiter said “she has fired them up” when we asked about the next course. I'm not sure who fired them up or who needed it but the result was poor. I suppose everyone is entitled to a bad day.

We have neighbors who used to live in Zionsville that recommended Oakley's and raved about the restaurant, so when visiting family in Carmel, we decided to give it a try. We couldn't have been more pleased. The intimate ambiance, fine service and delightful food presentations were outstanding. We started with the buffalo cauliflower and our granddaughter claimed it the best she's had and then we all enjoyed sharing a salad that was also delicious. My husband had the meatloaf and gave it high marks, while I enjoyed the fettucine and our granddaughter (19) had the evening's special of steak frites. All of us were very happy with our choices. I have to give credit to our server, Alex, who was attentive and helpful about our meal choices. The noise level was moderate which was helpful and made the meal more enjoyable allowing for lively conversation without having to raise our voices to be heard. This was one of the best if not the best restaurant we've visited there in the last ten years. The attention to detail from the tableware to the staff was impressive in this day and age of big noisy restaurants. This restaurant has character, outstanding quality food and a terrific staff. We look forward to visiting again and again.

The morels were incredibly as was the rhubarb dessert. The salmon was great too . The waiter , Josh, was helpful with suggestions on appetizers and desserts. Arrived at 5 and we were only patrons so was a great atmosphere. Thanks again for a great dining experience with outstanding food

Great place, but the chef puts too many flavors in each dish. I know they're trying to be creative, and the plate is beautiful, but they put so many divergent elements in each dish that it confuses the taste buds. I wish they'd simplify the dishes. I also wish they'd bring back their roasted half duck. It was the best in town and no one else has it.

Our party of 8 had a wonderful time. The wines were great and reasonably priced; the staff was good...couple hiccups but no real problems. This is about my 10th visit over the years and it is always good.

We were running about 10 minutes behind. I called prior to our reservation time to let them know and they said fine. See you in a little bit. When we got there, they were putting us at a very uncomfortable and odd spot. When I asked if they had any other tables, the reply was, we gave your table away because you were late. I felt we were being penalized. And it was right near the bar and check-in area, and the staff was busy talking amongst each other very loud. As I got busier that did become less. Her son was in from California and it was just a quiet dinner the three of us. Our timeslot said the table was reserved for us. 530 to 730, however, we would not have used it the entire two hours, so I don't understand why 10 minutes late was a concern.

I don't know how Steve Oakley does it. But I hope he keeps doing it. Steve's creativity is second to none in Indy. We had two of the specials last night and both were outstanding. And as always, the wine selection and the service via Josh were exceptional. We love Oakley's.

We had a very significant family dinner here and despite age ranges and food sensitivities, everyone was enamored with their meal and we had a spectacular evening! A “hidden gem” restaurant of Indy!!
Cannot give a restaurant like Oakley's Bistro a rating of more than one. We made three different requests to turn down the volume of their background music. Oakley's management ignored each of our requests, and did not offer a reason as to why the music could not be turned down. So, we had to put up with trying to hear each other over the loud music. They just don't care. Obviously they must think the reason people visit Oakley's is to enjoy their canned music rather than enjoy their food and time with those with whom they are dining. Hopefully one day they'll learn to appreciate those who visit their Bistro rather than take them for granted.

Amazing food, new creative twists on favorites. Every item was spectacular. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Outside is a strip mall but inside you would never know. Suggest to make a reservation. Definitely will be going again

While the food was good it wasn’t what we expected from this restaurant. The worse part of our dining experience was the restaurant itself. The seating is uncomfortable in more ways than one. We left with aching backs! Also it felt like we were dining with strangers because the tables are so close together. When the servers were attending to the tables on either side of us we were experiencing their behinds uncomfortably close to our food & felt like our personal space was being invaded. We were unable to talk to each other due to the loud talking all around us.
