Portofino is a gem! Initiallybtried tobteservecaxtable for either Friday or Saturday to celebrate Valentine's Day. Booked solid. Decided to go on Thursday. The food was wonderful, favorable and well prepared by Chef Dave. Great ambience in a quiet atmosphere so you could actually carry on a conversation. Spectacular service. Summer was attentive but not over-bearing. Portofino is my favorite restaurant in the Indianapolis area. Never a disappointment.

We had an outstanding bottle of wine, fabulous service and delicious food tonight. Cannot recommend Portofino enough. The noise level is low with quiet jazz music playing. It is a very intimate and romantic setting. The food is top notch. One of our favorite locations.

Our experience at Portofino was amazing! We came here for a birthday dinner, even arrived a little late and anxious since they don't answer phones during business hours, come to find out they reserve the table for the entire evening! The cheese, bread, and meat plate was phenomenal, a big hit I recommend! The quattro formaggio is like a fettuccine alfredo from olive garden with an authentic Italian twist. The chef even came out a few times throughout the evening. Really gave us individual attention. Please come here for an amazing dining experience!

The first three courses were amazing. I had the best Quattro formaggi. The wait staff was great. The chef/owner walked around and made everyone feel welcome. My husband's shrimp were way over cooked (grilled shrimp scampi) and my stew was more like red pasta sauce. The last course was the reason for the 4 star.

My wife and I are foodies and have been fortunate enough to eat at some excellent restaurants with some great chefs when we travel. We literally plan our travel around experiencing great restaurants. We are thankful to have a restaurant like Portofino with an accomplished chef like Dan right here in Indy. Not many restaurants truly make everything from scratch and even fewer source healthy sustainably grown/raised ingredients. Because of that, we eat at Portofino quite often and it is always an enjoyable dining experience. Everything on the menu in our opinion is superb! We highly recommend Portofino to those who enjoy a quiet, personal dining experience in a relaxed, non stuffy atmosphere with superb food.
