Young up and coming, Chef Mikaela is a culinary force to be reckoned with!

Me and my wife went there for our anniversary and the meal started out wonderfully, but we ended up waiting 40 minutes for our Main course to arrive and when it did, the piece of veal that I got was 90% gristle it was not a great piece of meat. The portions were extremely small and the bill ended up being a little over $300.

Chef Dan and his staff went above and beyond for my family tonight. Not only was the food amazing (my husband threatened to lick the plates clean) but they were exceptionally nice and welcoming. When we told them we were bringing our 11 year old who loves to cook, they greeted us right away and ushered him into the kitchen to see how it all works. Then Dan came over multiple times to chat and give our son advice. It was probably one of my best experiences at a restaurant. All the food was amazing but our stand outs were the baked fontina, Quattro formaggio pasta, the crab and salmon roulade and the cannoli. However, nothing was bad and we ate every bite from all the dishes! Every single person we came into contact there was so friendly. Seeing my son smiling in the kitchen and talking about what he learned from the amazing chef was well worth it. If you get the chance, go! You won’t be disappointed!

Been in a dozen times or more since they opened. The food is incredible. The service is impeccable. I find the food to be reasonably priced also.

Kid-friendliness: Not for small children but teens can enjoy.

Shawnda was great!
Classy cozy atmosphere.
Muscles. Caprese salad. Braised short rib… ALL fantastic.
Everyone that got pasta agreed it needed salt (with no salt on the table) and they were dry.
Cesar salad. Just ok. You need to cut up yourself & toss. Oso buco was ok. As was the risotto.
We had to ask for bread, butter & oil. That should be a given at this price level.
6 people. $700 with tip. (Wine & cocktails, two apps, 2 desserts, 6 entrees)
Small plates. Not generous portions. You won’t leave full. At the price point everything should have great, nothing, just ok.
Deposit required for reservation.
Will we return? Probably not.
But, glad we tried it!

Every course was absolutely delicious. I didn’t believe the 4.9 rating. It is deserving.

We have driven past this restaurant many times on the way home, but this was the first time we've eaten there. The food was authentic (our daughter-in-law is Italian) and outstanding in presentation, serving temperature and preparation. It was difficult to choose from the many choices on the menu. We will definitely eat here again. And again.

another wonderful experience at Portofino! excellent food, beautiful setting, and stellar service. Really appreciate being able to have a long, enjoyable European style dinner at Geist.

This is our go-to restaurant when we are looking for a "date night". The staff, the food and the facility are fantastic. We have been there for all the important nights that we need to celebrate.

Take your time the table is yours till your finished. Classy, good service, and great classic Italian cuisine. Great for special occasions and I feel good spending the money. Split something from every course!

Love this restaurant and last Saturday was even better than before! My husband got the filet and I got the bolognese for our entrees. We shared a wonderful pasta dish that had artichokes in it- simply divine! We finished with tiramisu and after the meal we agreed this meal was as fine as any we had when we visited Italy last October. I highly recommend this restaurant and the entire experience! Grazie!

Excellent service, could not ask for a more attentive server. She kept our waters full and wasn't bothered that we spent nearly an hour and a half at the table. She gave us tips on splitting the five course menu for a party of two and was overall just wonderful.

We ordered the charcuterie to start (different name on the menu but I forget). It was good. The parm was too hard to break apart but the rest was great, however only two small biscuits for the whole plate.

We moved on to the Caesar salad which was okay. They grill the romaine, still not a fan of that, and the dish is deconstructed which honestly isn't necessary for a salad. We moved on to some pasta which was pretty good but had WAY too much artichoke (weird thing to not be happy about, I know so I won't elaborate).

Then the peppercorn crusted fillet. Ordered medium rare, there was a half inch of well done around the edges and the center was raw. Sent it back, then received a more-cooked version of the same. The owner/chef let us know he wrapped it in lettuce and baked it to finish? It is the only steak option on the menu and I cannot recommend it. The lady and I both have fish-tasting indigestion and I'll leave it at that.

I think they're mixing proteins on a flat top and shouldn't, and need to improve their steak cooking process. I also think the owner should either hire a chef or spend less time talking in the dining room.

Overall decent experience. If I come back I will not be ordering a main protein or the ceasar salad.

We came here for our 7 year anniversary and were immediately welcomed with a beautiful happy anniversary card. The service was top notch, food was amazing, ambiance was peaceful and quiet and everything was priced reasonably! Highly recommend! We will be coming back for sure!

Everything was absolutely delicious. I started with an Apperal spritz, which was very refreshing. Then, the Formaggio pasta as well as the filet mignon. I believe their dishes are designed to have multiple courses as your dinner. Regardless, it was amazing. Fillet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection. Seared on the outside yet perfectly medium rare inside. 10/10. Boxed up some tiramisu for home which was also delightful. The Chef even came around and checked on things. Will definitely be back!!! Also love how close this is to home. Thank you!
