Came out for the new breakfast bagel offerings. Bagels are great and hang browns are super crispy. Glad to have another breakfast offering in FSQ!

4 stars because their dinner menu is solid and the service is always really good.

However, the new breakfast is a miss. They are charging $10.50 for a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. It’s the most expensive bagel sandwich in the city of Indianapolis (I checked, this is a fact.)

Additionally, their menu pricing is messed up. The sandwiches are more expensive than if you ordered a la carte. I tried ordering a bagel for $3 then add bacon for $2, egg for $2 and cheese for $1 ($8 total) but they wouldn’t let me, despite those options being on the menu (pretty sure this isn’t legal). It’s the same for the combo “deal”. $14 for an egg and cheese bagel with hash browns and a coffee. But if you order all those things a la carte, it’s $11.50.

I commented on their IG post with these discrepancies and they deleted all comments and locked the post.

Don’t get these bagels. Go directly next door and get a bacon egg and cheese sandwich from Easy Rider for $7, a reasonable price for the product.

EDIT: In response to Red Lion’s snarky comments about getting a bagel vs a sandwich. Here are the prices for a bacon, egg and cheese elsewhere in Indy- Broad Ripple Bagel Deli $7.95, Bearded Bagel $8.55, Sidedoor $9.50, Java House $5.35.

But sure, focus on it being round bread not square bread, instead of the high price and price discrepancy that was pointed out to you before the launch day. You even changed menus but didn’t fix it after deleting my IG comment. I even tried messaging you privately first to quietly bring up the issue. But instead you ignored it, deleted my comment and chose to respond here with a snarky reply.

Good luck with the most expensive bagel sandwich in Indianapolis.

My favorite bar in Fountain Square. A great place to watch sporting events, listen to live music, and enjoy DJs on weekend nights. The food is terrific and the staff are tremendously friendly. Make sure to stop in and grab food and a drink!

Casual and cozy. The fish n chips — touted as the best in Indianapolis — lived up to the hype. Great spot that doesn’t break the bank.

Staff very welcoming. Food was excellent. Can't say enough about the staff they are professional and personable. Fish and Chips were delicious and the food was plated nicely.

Ordered the waltimate with no cheese. The burger was so so good. I'm not even a fan of burgers but that was delicious. Enjoyed the tots too. Service was great.

Went back a second time and had the waltimate. Service was great - shout-out to Andrea and Mark.

Hit or miss.
We stopped coming here years ago because a change in chef resulted in menu items changing. We have now come back 3 times in close succession. First 2x just recently were excellent food experiences. This third time was bad. I had the fish and chips all three times. This time the fish was greasy, the fries were cold and a very small portion "bottom of the bag" remnants. I think they were hoping the hot fish would heat up the cold fries. The pickle fries were not even coated and were a small portion (maybe incorrect from what I remembered). Plate was extremely chipped and should not be in use. Loved the patio the other 2 visits.

We picked this place at random while wandering Fountain Square and I'm so glad we tried it. This might be the best fish and chips in town. Love the decor and the staff was all great. We will definitely be back.

The food was a pleasant surprise, since the room had a bit of a smell to it that we couldn't quite place. Maybe just the age of the building, though. I wouldn't let that keep me from returning if I was in the area. I had the half order of fish and chips, and it was delicious. The only reason I can't give the food 5 stars is the temperature of the fries I received. They could have been warmer. They were very tasty and reminded me of Five Guys fries.

Do you want an absolute treat? Then you must come here. The food was so incredibly delicious, hot and we had amazing service. We got the fried pickles which came out very promptly and were devoured within minutes. For entrees, my group got stuffed portabello with mashed potatoes, breaded tenderloin with French onion soup and the fish and chicken platter. All entrees were seriously phenomenal. Our server was attentive without being overwhelming and made sure we were taken care of. Bonus points, the bathrooms were gender neutral! Seriously such good food and service! I cannot recommend this place enough!
