It's average for a burger, fries, and beer. My wife got the jalapeño popper burger (she seemed disappointed in it as it did not taste like a jalapeño popper). I got a double Trippin Billies Burger (has mushrooms and horseradish sauce) which I liked. The pitcher of beer is discontinued on Friday's (only like 2 bucks off) but still a deal. We did not like how the bacon on the burgers is literally just fat as seen in the picture (we both expected some meat on the bacon). Not our favorite burger joint as in quality of burgers.

Comfortable as jeans and a tshirt, Roots Burger Bar welcomes you to come in, relax and have a bite to eat. The ambiance is comfortable sports bar with wooden tables and a massive beer list but it hides a fantastic kitchen with some phenomenal BBQ. As you are looking over the extensive menu, you are brought a bucket of popcorn to munch on while making your selection. Our server was wonderful and attentive, as was the entire staff. This is one of those unique places where everyone checks on you to make sure you want for nothing. The food was fantastic. I got the Brisket Melt and the name was appropriate. It melted in my mouth and I had no need for a knife to split my sandwich. It was garnished with sweet and sour pickles and marinated onions which complemented the silky meat perfectly. My companion got one of their amazing smash burgers and it was flavorful and moist. This is a hidden gem well worth looking for on 71st

Great burgers and atmosphere. Love the feel of being somewhere neighborhood-ISH. Staff have always been great.

First time here! I actually was riding down the street and searched "burgers" on Yelp and found this spot. First impressions are everything. I walked in the door and hostess just looked at me. I spoke and said hello and she looked up from her phone and asked if I was there for a pick up order. I was a party of one but I was dining in. She told me the wait was about 20mins. I asked if there was seating at the bar and she said she didn't know. Ummm ok...based on her I would've had turned around and walked out but I decided to stay. I'd love to know how the popcorn works...do I just grab it?? I didn't ask because she already was less than welcoming so I didn't have any. I did find a seat at the bar. Granted it was a Friday night and they were busy. I overheard the bar tender say that they just lost some servers. I ordered a pineapple margarita. The menu stated it came with an infused pineapple..to my surprise it was not served that way. I asked and she stated they were out of pineapples...bummer.I ordered the jalepeno popper burger. There is more burger than bun here!! Woo hoo!! It was pretty good. The actual Patties don't taste seasoned. But the burger it self is good! My fries weren't cold but they weren't hit either. I am done eating and out the door in 43mins...glad I didn't wait for a table!

Parking is plentiful and handicap parking as well. This place has a nice Sports Bar vibe and is nicely decorated with plenty of big screen TV’s. Bar tables and regular seating and bar seating to choose from with outdoor seating weather permitting. I arrived around noon the place was somewhat busy. Everyone was enjoying themselves, this place has a good atmosphere. I chose mom’s tenderloin, always a favorite of mine. Their tenderloin wasn’t bad four out of five. It was very nicely breaded and crunchy. The steak fries were delicious. Overall great place. Definitely worth another try, next time I’ll try a burger and some onion rings. Nice place to hang out and watch a game or just stop by for a sandwich. I was told they’ve been open a year, I’m sure they’ll be open for a few more. It’s worth a stop give it a try I recommend it.

Roots was the perfect place for a night out. They have some great specials. Thursday night was $6 burger and a side, as well as $3 drafts. If you are wanting a rather cheap meal, this is your place. They've got classic American food: wraps, burgers, salads. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. It is a relatively small place, so you are kind of packed in. The parking lot is shared with multiple businesses, so it may be hard to find a place on a weekend. Outdoor seating is right off of the parking lot. Overall a positive experience. Will definitely be returning!

We ordered carry out lunch. They carry out order system was simple and prompt. We found the prices to be a bit high. The food was good, we will rethink if we will return as we found it to be average.

Pretty great cheeseburgers here!! Started off with a few beers and popcorn… yes they have popcorn as a little snack on the side… then I grabbed some of those Popper Tots the kids LOVED them I did too!! And we also got the JP's Wings mild and those boys was really good they are a must try and we got the Tin Can Nachos those are to die for the kids liked how we had a mountain of nachos filled with chili cheese ground beef and veggies!! I’ve ordered multiple different cheeseburgers I’ve ordered the Jalapeño Popper Burger (Triple) that thing was sooooo yummy patties are cooked to perfection and the way the cheese melts on the beef… it just smacks your taste buds and I’ve also had a Bacon (Double) who doesn’t like bacon cheese lettuce tomatoes and onion on a burger it’s the American way for me!!! This is a highly recommended place seriously go check them out asap I can’t wait till I can try the Sirloin Steak meal ohh and kids eat free not sure of the days they do but every time we’ve been they are for free! Great place

Busy busy right around 7:00 dinner time but they handled the rush well. We had a slight wait, but was seated within the directed time. Food was awesome, Strawberry mule was very sweet, but still good.I had the Fried Chicken sandwich-be sure to ask for no bacon if that's not your jam. Buffalo Dip was flavorful- I was actually surprised on the spice. Very good.

Get ready for some smash burgers! When you arrive and are seating you get a bucket of popcorn for the table. Staff was friendly and attentive so thumbs up for them. The menu has a variety of food but you really should be here for the burgers. Each burger option you can get with 1, 2 or 3 pattys. Each is a smashed 4oz. I opted for a single, my husband got a double. I got a PB burger which had peanut butter, jam and bacon and it was bangin. If you haven't tried the peanut butter on a burger craze yet I highly recommend you try! The bun has a nice roots stamp on top and was quite sweet - maybe it's a potato bun? It worked. They skimped on the fries a bit- or it looked like they did since the plate they served it on was far too large. We also ordered the salsa & guac with chips and both felt like they were just dumped out of a jar from a grocery store. Pass on that.

We ordered delivery and the food was still fresh and hot when it arrived. I had the PB&J, it was good, but the peanut butter masked a lot of the flavors. I would order it again, but I think I'll ask for light peanut butter next time. The seasoned fries were good too!

Third time back at Roots. Thursday night, a good 2 man band in the bar. Not too loud, just right. My wife tried the fish sandwich this time. Not good. Greasy, soggy crust and not much fish under the batter. The server quickly replaced it with her usual order, Black Bean burger which was fabulous. Need to rethink the fish but all in all pretty good. PS: don't put kids in the bar area.

I'm hoping our experience was isolated, but our overall time at Roots Burger Bar this evening was sub par at best. We declined the popcorn bucket by the hostess and my fear is that that would have been the best part of the evening. The hostess seated us right next to the swinging door of the kitchen when there were multiple other tables in the dining room available. It wasn't very busy on this side as Trivia was going on in the Bar area. Unfortunately, anytime the MC for trivia spoke, it was the ONLY thing you could hear in the restaurant. After about 10-15min, our server finally stopped by (whom by the way, might be one of the NICEST humans on the planet! Thank you Mark!) We'd have enough time to peruse the menu that we placed our full order right away. Our food actually came VERY quickly, or we thought so. Our waiter didn't know if it was our order as he wasn't sure what our specific burgers looked like. The runner shoved the trays into his hands and quickly dismissed herself saying "not my problem." Once we confirmed they were ours, I was disappointed that the Amen Corner burger I ordered (bbq, coleslaw, pimento cheese, pickle, tomato) arrived as a simple cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and smothered in so much bbq sauce, the burger itself was almost cold. The "seasoned" fries were barely salted. My husbands burger was over done and mine was almost medium rare. We ate quickly and paid our bill. With this being in a smaller area with 3 busy restaurants, parking was a little tricky in the lot. I'm not sure we'll be back to this location, but we may give the Carmel or Muncie locations a try at some point.

We went to Roots Burger Bar for dinner a couple of weekends ago. The servers were nice, but very slow. We were with a group of adults, but I feel like if we had our children there, the wait would would have been an issue. It was about an hour from when we ordered to when we got our meal. I got the Southern Pride Burger and it was ok. The burger was not hot, like it had been sitting for a while before it came out, which wouldn't be surprising given how short staffed they seemed. The restaurant was noisy but it was manageable. It reminded me of an Applebees in a way. I would most likely not go back to this restaurant, as there are a number of great burger restaurants in the area.

We love Roots, it's a Thursday night staple (when they have drink deals). There is also sometimes live music which is really fun. I've had the burgers before and also the taco salad; each are equally delicious. Probably one of the best taco salads I've had. We also love how they give you popcorn when you walk in, it's a fun touch.
