Sauce on the Side

I ordered the “Meat me in St. Louis” calzone. The sausage on the particular calzone tasted like it was jimmy deans sausage that I would buy at the store so I can’t give this sandwich the best rating.
The pepperoni was delicious as was the cheese. I am not sure I will try this one again but I I will be back for something without sausage and plenty of pepperoni.

This is my new favorite spot in Indy! The service was excellent and I’ve never tasted a calzone like the one I got there and I can’t even tell you how wonderful the smores calzone was it was like nothing I’ve ever ate before! Awesome

The food was absolutely excellent. Exactly what you need on a cold wet rainy day for that comfort food vibe. The staff was very nice and brought our food out. Piping hot with a smile. The sodas were unique, especially the ski and Cherry cola option and I am not a soda drinker but I had two glasses with our meal. The sauce pairs excellently with the calzones and the food was super affordable for the massive portion to get. Definitely some place to try and return to again.

I went here with 3 other people and none of us can stop raving about our food. We each tried the others order and all of us loved them all. I ordered the Figgy Piggy. When I say the complexity of the flavors was so complementary, I mean the first bite was mind blowing. Highly recommended and they have hand crafted in house sodas!

The manager and staff were awesome! I ordered for a large group for take-out meals, but decided at the last minute to eat in the restaurant. They were more than happy to help us do that! Everyone raved about the food! And if you are gluten-free, all my gluten-free folks said it was the best they ever had!!! Highly recommend!

I had had Sauce on the Side previously while living in St. Louis. It was a treat to have it located next to my hotel. A great calzone and good service. Great natural light.

First off the food was terrible do not order the hot mother clucker my brother flushed his down the toilet bc it was trash. Only one person in our group finished his meal because he is a big back. About an hour after my meal I had the ungodly urge to shat, so in the midst of lucas oil stadium’s bathroom, I shat myself everywhere; all over the toilet, the wall, and the floor. Thank you for the worst meal ever! Don’t go you will get food poisoning! I will not be adding a phot of the aftermath.

The food and service was amazing! After several past bad restaurant experiences this was the perfect supper! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff made a point to check on us several times! Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a calzone! Will be back in the future!!

This place is a hidden gem and needs more patronage to keep its unique offering in Indy going for everyone. Creative Gourmet Calzones with gourmet sauces on the side. “Calzones as big as your head” should be their tag line. So creative, so much flavor! They have a good tap beer selection as well plus TVs playing the various games. They do take out orders as well.

The Misses and I were told about this spot when discussing the Pacers game so we stopped in and we were so impressed !! The food was so hot and fresh and appeared to be quality ingredients. We actually shared one Roasty Toasty and were satisfied but not because of price as it is very reasonable. They also have some real sugar soda, fountain machine along with many bottled choices. Best of all the staff were friendly. We will be certainly making trips back even outside of basketball season!!

Passing through the area on a roadtrip from Missouri. We’ve never had sauce on the side and we’re excited to try it! Made the mistake of ordering through GrubHub and called the store about it as It had been ready for over an hour. The manager Kels (pardon if spelling error!) said if we came to get it he’d make us one fresh as he wanted us to have a good first time experience with them. Amazing customer service. And we are soo appreciative
