Sauce on the Side

Oh my this was amazing. Place called sauce on the side....Hush puppy kinda things with spinach and artichoke dip and a calzone with bbq sauce...
I might just return to Indianapolis just to eat here again. The 5-0 and spinach and artichoke bites are awesome!

I just had the best calzone I’ve ever had in my 62 years. If you’re in the Indianapolis area hit this place up.
The “Duke” calzone is fantastic. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

The food was great. Service pleasant and kind. Perfect portion with a huge selection of calzones. The no name soda was on taste to brand names.

The person at the front counter was confusing and hard for me to understand. Maybe it was me, not sure.

Other than that, it was awesome!

The BEST ricotta I've ever had. Meat sauce was everything I hoped for. The bread/crust to fillings ratio was really good (heavy on fillings).

Perfect location and food solution for a pre-Fieldhouse visit. Considering the expensive location, the prices were reasonable and worth it.

We were in town for a day & were staying at a nearby hotel. We walked by & were intrigued, so we looked up the menu & reviews & decided to give it a try. We were very happy we did! The calzones were delicious, the service was great, & everyone was extremely friendly!

I really liked this restaurant! We went here before DCI and it was close and not too busy, which was convenient. The service wasn't bad, there were just clearly new people working who weren't sure about some things (like taking orders). The atmosphere is really nice. There is plenty of seating with nice TVs set up for vantage points, but not in an obnoxious way. I loved the stool seating and the wood table tops. The glasses you drink in are glass, and it makes the experience feel really just special. The calzone was phenomenal and very well cooked. The Caesar salad was good too! My last note was the place was very clean, from the dining to the restroom. I would recommend eating here if you're ever in Indianapolis!

Allergy warning: the Caesar salad croutons contain nuts!!! I had a bad reaction just an hour ago. It is NOT on the menu in the restaurant, though you can find a very unnoticeable call-out to it on the online menu.

One of Indy's secret spots. Just across from Gainbridge, some of the best and fulfilling calzones you'll ever get. Its got specialty sodas and drinks too.

Such a pretty space inside and decent location to hotels made this place stand out to us.
The food tasted off. A friend and I ordered different things and when I tried to explain to a “server” that came over to ask how we were I handed the calzone my friend ate 3 bites of and explained she did not like, she told us she was really sorry. I had hopped she would offer us something else for the price which we paid but she didn’t .. no money back either. Sucked. We handed her the plate we just wasted money on. So we ordered something else, again such a let down, didn’t finish left it on table, got up left. You pay before you receive your food. The “pop” was disgusting, it was like flavored water that was flat…
The best thing was the server coming to check on us and the restaurant looked clean and nice.
Otherwise we could’ve saved money by not coming here, we will not be returning… we should have knew better when there was 3 ppl in the whole place…. Save yourself the time.
