UPDATE: We came for lunch today because we already knew how great their Gyros were, but today I tried the Breaded Tenderloin - Wow! They tenderize and breaded them in house and it was perfect. The pork was juicy and not too thin. The breading was light with a home of seasoning. (Original post) We came for breakfast on Independence Day and they were open. We've wanted to come before now, but couldn't get here when they were open (just bfast and lunch, close at 4). We are sorry we waited, because it was excellent. The service was fast and friendly throughout the visit. From the drink order, to checking on a few times after the food came out. I had the Sherwood Combo Omelette and it was very good. Fresh ingredients, and lots of them. (Next time I might ask to add cheese). The hash browns were very good. Not limp and soggy and not overly crisp. My wife had the Sherwood Meat Lovers Skillet and really liked it. Her over easy eggs were perfect. We also split a half order of biscuits and gravy and they were very good. They have plenty of low top tables with metal armless chairs. Very comfortable. There is some outside seating. Everything was very clean, including the restroom. This place is really doing it right.
Ordered a Breaded Tenderloin sandwich with Tortilla Soup.
Let me just start out saying I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I absolutely love this diner. It's a quaint, hidden little gem in Lawrence. The food is amazing and the owners are so nice and hospitable. You can tell these people genuinely care about their service and food quality. I highly recommend you try it out if you havent yet.
Average breakfast food. Nothing was bad, but nothing was spectacular either. Service was good.
Food is hit or miss if it's going to be cold or hot, but when its hot it's not bad. A bit small and crowded inside; good to meet with someone for a coffee but don't try it with a group of 5 or more.
It was fantastic I enjoyed
Great small business! Good food, fast polite service!
Meat quality could be better. Coffee could be fresher.
