My sandwich was packed nicely but was made wrong and was extra greasy and dripping with grease so much I didn't even try to eat it. I feel like it has new owners or workers because it used to be the spot. Not anymore.

The cheese steak was perfect. The only negative for me was the sub roll could be just a little bit softer but it will become my go to spot for cheese steaks

Been ordering cheesesteaks from here for years . It took me a while ,, but I finally perfected my order and it's amazing . Steak Escape gives you so many options to choose from when it comes to making your own cheesesteak...a wide variety of different toppings that you can't usually find anywhere else in the city . That's what makes them the best cheesesteak spot to me .

Steak Escape – A True Bodega-Style Cheesesteak Win

On this outing, we were very pleasantly surprised. The place? Steak Escape—and let me tell you, it blew me away.

We were just craving a cheesesteak, popped it into Google, and lucked out. Google pointed us here, but more importantly, Steak Escape absolutely outdid themselves.

We ordered the cheesesteak (of course), and while I wasn’t born and raised in Philly, I lived in Philadelphia for 19 years. On top of that, I owned a bodega—aka a poppy store—where I made plenty of cheesesteaks myself. So when I say I know a good cheesesteak, I mean it.

This isn’t a high-end spot like Angelo’s or Stella's for those of you familiar with Philly—but that’s not a knock. This tasted like the real deal: a corner-store, bodega classic. The kind of cheesesteak you’d get wrapped in foil with the juices soaking into the paper, made with love and serious flavor.

The bread was on point, the meat was seasoned well, and everything came together just right. I’ve been to a number of local spots—if you’ve been following my reviews, you already know—but this one tops the list for me so far.

Service was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside is the atmosphere—it’s a little dingy—but honestly, that just adds to the authenticity. I’m hoping more people discover this place and help it thrive. It deserves it.

Five out of five stars. This is my new go-to. We’ll definitely, definitely be back.

I got the Philly Cheesesteak and my sandwich was delicious on the other hand my fries weren’t fresh and had a lot of salt I called them and gave a compliment on my sandwich I told him about the fries he apologized for that and told me to stop in anytime for fresh fries very nice and polite guy.

Sandwiches are tasty and filling. Pricing is reasonable. Would recommend any of the chicken ones.
