I haven't been to a Steak 'n Shake since they waited on you at the table. I have decided that I don't mind ordering at the kiosk and picking up the food at the counter. The new system eliminates the chance of a poor server. The food was good and the tallow fries are great. Both times I have been here recently, everything was very clean. The kiosk screens were even cleaned while we were there. Overall, it's not too much more than fast food but way better food!

The ordering system is a bit confusing. The soda system is the pinnacle of not trusting your customers. The easy fix is bringing back wait staff. The self-service model doesn’t work. The burger and shake were good. Not sure what is up with the beef tallow fries—the fries actually weren’t any better than before.

We just had a late night taste for steak and shake...Haven't had it in years.. 86th and Michigan rd WILL be my location. Our food was fresh...fast ..and taste so good.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I always go to the Steak & Shake off of Pendleton Pike and Sunny side and have GREAT SERVICE but for the last 2-3 months my son has been in the hospital fighting a heart problem, and when he request a shake from steak & shake I try to accommodate him if he’s not on restrictions from his doctor. I went in tonight, and ordered 2 shakes without topping and ask if they could be filled closer to the rim. Most of the time they accommodate me, and I offer to pay a little more if I have too. Well the manager, I guess that’s what she calls herself, 🙄 Came up and LIED and said the machine only allows a certain amount and it automatically stops and if I wanted it to the top, I would have to purchase another shake. The funny thing is, when she’s not there, it gets done with the absolute best service! I wish my son wasn’t in the hospital, but I really wish it wasn’t close to THIS steak and shake! I’m big on reviews and where I work our reviews are 4.9 With almost 2,000 reviews. This Steak & Shake has 3.6. As a company I would think you would want to do better….? But maybe you don’t care?

We eat at Steak n Shake about once a week. In my opinion they have the best burgers in the world. Their burgers can't be beat. They've changed things over the years. Now when U go inside instead of ordering @ your table you order @ a kiosk and they bring your food out to you. Great place for families. Prices are very reasonable. They also serve wonderful milkshakes.
Vegetarian options: They have cheese fries and grilled cheese. Cottage cheese, onion rings, salad, slaw.
Kid-friendliness: Oh yeah. Kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: We go to the one over on Michigan Road. There is a wheelchair accessibility ramp.
Recommended dishes: Original Double Steak Burger, Double Cheeseburger and Fries, Oreo, Dad Always Loved the Chili Mac, Chili Cheese Fries

It has been awhile since I've been here. To discover there are no waitresses and all orders are taken using a kiosk was disappointing. You cannot see the entire menu to ponder what you would like.
When the order was delivered, the condiments were on the wrong burgers. This was not discovered until one of our party had already taken a bite. Several minutes into eating, a milkshake that was ordered still had not arrived. When I asked about it, I was told that it was coming, that there was not a person at the milkshake station. 2 minutes later it arrived. Intereating...

My wife stopped by to grab a shake before heading into her night shift. When the shake was handed to her the lid popped off despite the cup being grabbed from the bottom. The employee offered a new lid but no napkins or a remake despite the mess.

Wife and I both got the garlic double steak burger - best steak & shake burger we've had. The staff was incredibly attentive, regularly asking if we needed help ordering at the new kiosks, if we needed anything else. The food was not slow, and about exactly what I would expect for a dine-in, cooked-to-order food joint.
