After a couple of lackluster restaurant experiences we decided to go with one of our favorites for New Year’s Eve. We chose Baan Thai Bistro and made a reservation for 6:30 p.m.
It was snowing and we had a stop to make beforehand so we left home a bit early and arrived at Baan Thai a bit after 6. We were told we would have to wait. No problem for us. We also heard the man at the desk tell a carryout customer they were running 45 minutes behind. Another employee said that their computer system had crashed.
We were seated at about 6:20 and the waitress said the table had been empty and she didn’t understand why they didn’t seat us.
We knew what we wanted and ordered three dishes for two people and the rib appetizer that was posted on the specials board. The order was submitted at 6:24 p.m. according to my receipt. Fifteen or so minutes later someone with a reservation was seated across from us.
After about forty-five minutes passed we asked if we could get our appetizer and were told no. However, the table across from us had already been served their meal.
All of our food was served at 7:40 p.m., an hour and forty minutes after we were seated. The ribs were charred and had no hint of the promised lemon grass flavor. We ate the appetizer and asked for clean plates. The dirty plates were cleared and no clean plates were furnished.
We finally got the attention of our waitress and she brought the requested plates. At this point the food was tepid. The pad thai bore NO resemblance to the menu photo, but was a gelatinous heap of noodles with a tiny bit of peanuts. There were no eggs. We asked for take out containers and left. I will say that the curry and fried chicken were very good.
My daughter spent two months in Thailand and felt the pad thai was not anything like that served in Thailand.
I feel that priority was given to take out orders and the customers who came to dine in the restaurant should have been treated with more care. Baan Thai is one of my daughter’s favorites and she will return—I will not. I did tip the waitress, the fault was in the kitchen. They sure put a damper on our New Year’s Eve.

Just putting it out there that Baan Thai Bistro is hands down the BEST Thai food I have ever ever ever had. They do a crab Rangoon dip that's so flavorful and delicious. I also got the green curry and it was the perfect spicy for my pregnancy cravings. 12/10. Will be going back!

Baan Thai not only has the most delicious Thai food I’ve ever had, but it is made and served by the loveliest and kindest staff. My four year old constantly asks to come here for his “favorite noodles” (Pad See Ew), the crab Rangoon dip, and his favorite dessert (sticky rice and mango). I am a sucker for the drunken noodles, which are LOADED with fresh and delicious veggies, but also love the Thai fried chicken, chicken drumstick with curry noodles, and honestly everything I’ve ever had there!
Going here makes my heart and belly happy, and it’s always my favorite place to recommend to people! Thank you for being such a gem in the city!

We have been to this restaurant numerous times for dine in and have even done take out. There is nothing in the menu we have not enjoyed! As a picky eater, I will say this restaurant is a 10/10! The thom yum Hot with shrimp and their honey Siracha wings are my favorite!

I went here with a party of four. We each ordered an appetizer, main dish, and dessert and shared them all across the table. The food was AMAZING! So very fresh and it was displayed beautifully. I can't wait to go back!
