Overpriced, very slow service (they seemed understaffed yet had lots of servers), not as clean or as pretty when it opened originally. Mrs. Rogers has certainly stepped away. Not sure that I'll ever come back as there are so many good options in Indy.
Excellent experience! The Chicken Velvet Soupe is one of the best soups I've ever tasted, the French Ham & Brie Sandwich was very good, and for a place that has “cake” in its name, the Peanut Butter Banana Cream Pie far exceeded the cake that I had at their Disney location; the pie was terrific! The service and intimate atmosphere were great, too. Highly recommend!
This is a favorite of ours...but this was the worst experience we've had eating out in years. 3 tables of people & it took 25 min before ANYONE came to us for an order. It took another 20 min for each quiche to come out + they looked great BUT we're warm on the outside and literally cold on the inside. We had to go up to the counter to ask for our server to come to our table. The manager removed the quiche and in 25 min brought them back. By that time we didn't want them. We did each get a piece of cake, and as always they were wonderful.
There was some confusion when serving our soups, but the service was amazing and made up for the mistakes.
The Cake Bake Shop in Broad Ripple Village is a whimsical fairyland with heavenly desserts, gorgeous drinks and an upscale dining experience! Staff is pleasant, professional and engaging. This place opens your heart and reminds one of Grandma's house and Christmas all wrapped up in one comforting package!
Went specifically for our favorite Confetti sundae to celebrate a friend, ended up eating lunch as well. Everything was wonderful, as always, except the confetti sundae was no longer on the menu. It had been replaced with something much more, including piece of cake, marshmallows and a marshmallow creme served on a plate! It was a beautiful dessert but possibly geared more toward kids. Please bring back traditional sundae.
My daughters and I had a wonderful time. Quaint in size. My daughter described it as whimsical and aesthetically pleasing. The food was wonderful and was presented very quickly. Our server, Jeremy, was wonderful.
The experience here was exceptionally wonderful! I would like to thank the cake bake shop for making my two granddaughters' birthday celebration with their Mamaw and Papaw something they will always remember!
Everyone was awesome, however we were seated in a section with a west window one hour before sundown and the intruding sunlight was a bit distracting for both of us, especially my guest, who came halfway around the world to enjoy her birthday 🎂 at the wield-famous Cale Bake! We were told there were no blinds to lower to block the sun. The birthday accommodations are off the hook and Lilia was a magnificent hostess! 😁 Would come back again, but not at 8p!
This place is adorable and exactly what I was looking for in celebrating my wife's birthday. I will start by saying we were in a hurry and did not have the kind of time you really need to get the most out of a place like cake bake shop. That said, the waiter they assigned had too much on his plate, the table was not set for a birthday celebration, the food came out incorrectly from the salad to the soup to the cake that was ordered. Absolutely nothing right in the service aspect which was truly disappointing. What made it more difficult was the couple that sat next to us with a different server seemed to get the royal treatment. Again, we lacked the proper time and were rushing the experience but there were too many things inside of the restaurants control that were mistakes to let pass without saying something. I would return with the appropriate of time and I wouldn't accept these types of mistakes in that case. Beyond the service errors, the food, cake, decor are amazing!

We had a very small baby shower at Cake Bake. The food & server were excellent, but it's still crazy to pay $150 for 3 people at lunch!!
We decided to go to the Cake Bake Shop for the first time to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and we absolutely LOVED IT! Not too many places live up to their hype but the Cake Bake Shop did! We loved the magical atmosphere, the attention to detail, the decadently scrumptious and (literally) sparkling cake. The staff was so polite and gracious, big shout out and thanks to our lovely waitress Kendall! We will be returning to this and other locations. Can't wait to try all the goodies this gem of a restaurant has to offer. If you are thinking about visiting the Cake Bake Shop, DO IT! You will not be disappointed.
We had such a great experience here! We have already been to the Carmel location and wanted to try the original. It's much smaller and “cozier” but good to see where it all started. We ate outside on the patio on a beautiful day. Our server, Jeremy, did a great job of helping us decide what to eat and drink. The Chicken Velvet soup was soooo delicious! So was the chicken salad croissant. The shop was tiny but had some of the baking essentials that I needed to restock. The cake was magnificent. Our group shared chocolate chip, red velvet, Earls Court chocolate and the Marie Antoinette. Each one was so good! Next time, we will try the carrot cake that Jeremy recommended. Such a special place ❤️
My group of 6 was smashed in a corner, making it pretty difficult to get up and down with a toddler. It was pretty dark, we were expecting bright and airy. The food tasted fine, but was definitely not worth $64 per person (food and a slice of cake plus tip). Our order wasn't taken until we were there for almost an hour and we had to rush to leave, as we did have plans after our reservation. I think they expect people to make this their only stop of the day. Our waiter seemed surprised when we told him we had somewhere to be. Overall it was fine, but I don't think I'll be back soon.
The place is so cute! The decor couldn't be any better. The staff was extremely kind. Our only disappointment was my salad was supposed to be without cheese, and it came with cheese on it.
