Went for the speakeasy but it wasn’t open yet. Our server was nice enough to show us around anyway. Cool place. The drinks were great as well.

Went for the first time on a Wednesday night with a few friends. This place has a great atmosphere(big windows upstairs, soft lighting, comfy chairs). The drinks were unique, tasty, and presented with flare(mine came in a flask I could pour myself, and a friend's drink came smoked in a glass cloche dome). It's a classy but not stuffy bar, and I can't wait to take my wife the next time I go. For Indy, it's top notch!

This is one of my all-time favorite spots in downtown Indy. However during tonight’s visit I was really disappointed with how our service ended. We were greeted and had our order taken super quickly, but it took us almost 30 minutes to get the check and cash out. Our server didn’t attempt to check on us toward the end of our second round of drinks and didn’t make eye contact. She then went downstairs and didn’t come back for quite some time, but when she finally returned and dropped the check, we waited patiently for nearly 10 minutes. We finally had to track down another server to cash us out after ten minutes (see receipts) since our server was talking to what looked like friends. It was also not busy at this point. Lastly, she never checked on us again or said thanks. Just really disappointing as we love this place and are disappointed of the treatment since we also suggest this place to others and it’s not a cheap cocktail bar. Work on your customer service please 🙏

Excellent cocktails, very friendly bartenders. I believe there is indeed two bars, one up one down, one bartender with very big muscles and very tight pants known as the dungeon master. Perfect for a date, at your own risk. The bar, not the dungeon master, but maybe.
Absolutely an amazing place for a date night, social gathering and to meet great people. Alexa was amazing serving my group downstairs. Our drinks were never empty, great taste, beautiful personality and great prices. A must visit when on Mass Ave!!!!!!!!!! Definitely my new favorite spot

Nice cozy place in the busy mass ave street, great collection of whiskey from all around the place, i was surprised to see indian whiskey also making it on the menu, was a humbling experience, well we went there on a Monday, loved the decor of this place, and the vibe, tables were correctly placed giving each some privacy to delve in their own conversations, service was good and timed well and attentive ( maybe it being a Monday)
Couple of improvements i would suggest is starting with a bowl of crackers or nuts to start the first drink and try the awesome whiskey or cocktails and then take time to order food, the experience of ordering food and drinks at the same time usually doesn’t happen at a concept whisky bars which this place was giving the vibe saying we know we got what you need.
More food choices for appetisers or bites between the occasional sips.
Staff should be more conversational to a point to atleast attend to what they are in the mood for or what do they have in mind. I don’t blame them, but its definitely an improvement they can easily fix with some coaching, the place does give me a great vibe. Drinks were a bit overpriced, although they had a great enticing happy hour pricing, but I’m happy with a scotch and dont usually go for cocktails, and i was genuinely happy with the options in scotch.

Atmosphere was cool, service was terrible. Sat in there for almost an hour to never be served. Server was drunk from the start. We even watched him take shots while we were waiting for our drinks. We felt like they didn’t even care or want us there. The place wasn’t even busy… We walked out and let another bartender know we weren’t served. They also didn’t care. Don’t even waste your time or money here.

I’m a local tattoo artist, looking for a new bar to take my siblings and I. I DO NOT recommend this bar whatsoever. We went on a saturday night, it wasn’t busy whatsoever, and we couldn’t even get our order taken without trying to flag down a bartender. Our bartender being hammered (and generally off putting) when we got there at 9:30 didn’t help. We finally get our orders in, a couple beers and a couple mixed drinks. A bit of time went by and we noticed there wasn’t much urgency getting any drinks out. I understand the mixed drinks take time, but the beers are literally on tap. We weren’t the only ones wondering where our drinks are, multiple other groups walked out as we were wondering what was happening. An hour goes by and we could see no drinks being made, except for the shots that the bartenders were taking themselves. After about an hour and a half we decide to walk out. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were just busy in the upstairs area, but on our way out the upstairs was pretty empty too. Absolutely no excuses. Ive lived on mass ave for awhile and there are many good bars here, this is NOT one of them. If you want overpriced cocktails, uncomfortable interactions with the unfunny male bartenders, and overall poor service, this is the place for you. We were having a good night hopping between local bars, this place literally made us want to end the night and go home. You’re better off at home with a cheap bottle. This place is a joke as are the unprofessional staff, do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else.

The Exchange Bar offers an impressive variety of interesting and delicious drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and reminiscent of a classic speakeasy perfect if you’re into that kind of vibe. The staff, especially our waiter Sean, was incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. He even offered alternative drink suggestions tailored to our tastes. The service overall was outstanding. I highly recommend trying the French 75—it was perfectly crafted. This place is welcoming and down-to-earth, with no trace of pretentiousness. You won’t be disappointed!
