Never had a bad meal at the Library and I go at lunch. I always ask for Kelly because she is a Rockstar, even remembers my drunk order after not being back for 3-4 months. All the staff is courteous and friendly. Great place!!

My lady and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner. We had a reservation. We arrived a little early, but our table was ready. The vintage vibe was nice (wish they updated their furniture, maybe adding old pub-style leather booths). Our server was kind, and her service was outstanding. We ordered the 12-oz prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. I also ordered the ribeye with a loaded baked potato and fried onion strings. I was surprised by the wide selection of sides, as the website dinner menu didn't mention some. The food tasted great, especially the prime rib, which melted in my mouth. The ribeye was okay. In my opinion, it needs more char-smoked flavor. I wish I could give 5 stars, but one mistake caught my eye when we were checking out and packing our food. A tiny hair piece was at the bottom of my onion strings. But overall, it was a decent experience at the library.

We walked into this place, with a group of 10, at 8pm on a Tuesday. The gentleman at the host/hostess counter, was very put off that we walked in without a reservation, as he seemed to be “done” for the night, and not expecting more patrons apparently. After an eye roll and a shoulder shrug, he continued to be very unpleasant while carrying a small table right through our group, to use for seating us. Once seated, the waitress/manager, approached our table asked if we were ok with our food being prepared by people of diversity preparing our meal? Our entire group, in shock, couldn't for the life of us figure out what she was referring to. Being rather insulted, we asked for a couple minutes before ordering drinks. That same manager purposely waited almost 10 minutes, before we just made the the decision to get up and walk out. My brother and I stopped to tell the manager, that nothing racial was ever said by us at all, and she didn’t budge a bit. Told us that we were not taking accountability at all. I made sure that I let her know that her host fabricated the entire thing. Still, we were blamed. That dishonest little man, cost his place of business, an easy $1000 tab.
Apparently the host took it upon himself to fabricate his own story, because he didn’t want to do his job, at 8pm at night.

Just ate dinner here and the food was great! I am appreciative of Brittany and Amber’s service as well. They were phenomenal!
Tenderloin salad was a joke. Tiny pieces of steak making it is impossible to make medium rare …all for the wonderful price of $36. Don’t bother. Low end food. Bar server was nice.

I have eaten at The Library many times in the past and I've always been pleased. However, this evening I ordered a carry out meal that consisted of soup and a house salad. I was very disappointed with the amount of food for the price. The french onion soup was no more than a slightly large cup and was ten dollars. The small house salad was eight dollars. To be fair, the quality of the soup and salad was good, but the quantity was lacking, given the $18 price.

Stoped by while in town and the food was amazing and ended up eating here every night this week. Service was great and all for a really good price. Will definitely be my go to when coming back to indy.

Decided to try this place for dinner since it looked like the only niceish restaurant within walking distance of my airport hotel. It's a cool building. The themed decoration is strongest in the foyer, but the whole restaurant has a charm to it. There are a few rooms in the house which are somewhat secluded from each other, and I was in the bar area with just a handful of tables, which made the place feel less busy to me than it actually was - I was surprised at how quiet it was on a Friday night until I was leaving and saw that there were more diners in other areas of the restaurant that weren't visible from my seat.
The food was pretty good. I first ordered a draft oat stout by New Holland Brewing, which was a very nice beer poured perfectly. Complimentary bread and pesto were brought out before my entree. The bread was so good - it was very soft and fresh, brushed with a flavourful herb butter. My entree was the vegan puttanesca. The dish had a good variety of vegetables all cooked well, and the marinara sauce was tasty (lots of garlic) but so brothy that I felt like I needed a spoon to eat it, but alas no spoon was provided. The waitress did offer more bread but I didn't feel hungry enough, so I declined and just tried to get as much as I could with my fork. The cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert was very good too - the cheesecake was rich and a little tangy but not overly dense or sweet. I appreciated that their dessert menu has both smaller and larger desserts, so I could get something from the small bites menu for just myself.
I think my entree was too expensive for what it was - chickpea pasta and vegetables in marinara sauce - but the prices made more sense for the drinks, dessert, and meat/seafood entrees.
The service throughout the meal was great. My waitress was attentive and very nice. She checked in often to see if I needed anything else but was also patient with me and other parties. The hostess was also pleasant. I didn't have to wait long after ordering to get my food either.
Given that its located right by a handful of airport hotels, I expected more of a traveler vibe, but it seemed like the crowd was mostly locals, which actually makes sense to me after my visit. It's a really nice, kind of old-school place with good food, and it could fit the bill whether you want a casual but quality meal, or a nice night out.
