The food was excellent. It has been every time we have eaten there. The garlic truffle fries are a must. The tacos and crab cakes were excellent.
The food was decent, nothing to write home about. The drinks and the atmosphere helped the overall experience, and the service was very good. Overall, a good evening with friends and family.
We sat at the bar and had fantastic food and drinks. Great service by everyone! All employees were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The nachos were the best we have ever had. The burger and fries were great!
Had a great time with friends. food was really good. A nice convenient spot near downtown. Sat outside and felt very warm/comfortable with the heaters
Food, drinks and service were good but it was sooooooo loud! I love music and dancing but not when I'm trying to enjoy a meal and conversation with my husband.
Came on Valentine's Day but didn't expect lunch to be that loud and chaotic. Our reservation clearly states “high top table” and we got an obviously last minute placement of a tiny 2-seater table 2 feet away from the live DJ and right next to a huge high top table full of people. We were in between them & it was so awkward & uncomfortable. We tried making the best of it since it was our first time at The Oakmont but within 15 min, I had a migraine and my friend was drained. It didn't help that it was LOUD so we couldn't even have proper conversation. The saving grace was the food & service—our server was pleasant and the food was delicious. My friend won't be back but I might come back for a low key dinner on a night with no live music.
Arrived at 5:10pm for a 5:15 reservation. (I know cutting it close, but snow covered streets and I didn't want to have my car sideswiped) We were immediately sat and there were a handful of ladies whom were near the obnoxiously loud spectrum. Regardless, they left not much after we sat down. The place is neat. Multiple glass pendants over the bar, I believe the bar top is made of concrete and was full. Bottles adorn the bar back and Tito's must be the top shelf vodka all the way near the ceiling. Our waitress brought water and took drink orders. And came back a little later asking if we were ready to order. I'd have liked to see the menu and dishes described but not a big deal by any means. Just a nice touch. We ordered, I had the blackened snapper with wilted spinach and truffle mash, which was accompanied by what I believe was a bright fragrant pesto drizzle. My wife had the carne asada tacos. Food came out fast. But the mash was warm at best, certainly in a steam table. The Fish was however cooked wonderfully. Overall my dish was a 3.5-4 out of 5. My wife did enjoy her tacos, fresh jalapeños made her nose water and her steak was fairly tender. And thank whomever didn't decide to put red onion in the pico, she'd say hers was a 4-5. We finished with lots of time left before the Pacers game. But our check came quick and we were out. We do enjoy coming to Mass Ave and will very likely come back in the summer to see how the atmosphere is with the doors open.
The restaurant is relatively small and has no on-site parking. The décor has a hipster vibe, with modern art covering the walls and a live DJ spinning records. The music competed with the already loud camaraderie in the space, so it's definitely energetic. The restaurant is 21+ only, requires a credit card for reservations, and has a strict policy that your full party must be present before being seated. We ordered a wide array of food. The pancake board was served with thinly sliced fresh fruit, Nutella, bacon, and syrup. I don't eat pork, so I ordered a side of chicken sausage instead, which ended up being the best part of my meal. It was cooked perfectly and served with a light, syrupy roux. Each bite made me excited for the next. The pancakes themselves were thick and dense, not my personal favorite. The fruit was fresh and the nuts helped elevate the flavor, but I only ate one pancake. The board is served for six and could easily have fed our entire party. My sister said her salmon tacos were delicious, and my niece felt the same about her steak tacos. Another niece enjoyed her bacon cheeseburger and found it very filling, she only ate half. My other nieces both enjoyed their steak with truffle fries, which were really good. The espresso martinis were also a big hit with my nieces. Overall, a lively atmosphere with generous portions and several standout dishes, especially the chicken sausage and truffle fries, but be prepared to wait if your party is large regardless if you have a reservation. We waited 40 minutes and had a reservation and 20% gratitude is added for parties 6+
We love Oakmont. We typically only go for drinks but decided to try brunch for my birthday. Everyone's meal looked so good. The only complaint with the food was that the crab cakes for the eggs Benedict were too fishy, but everything else was good!
We were in a hurry to get to a musical and our waitress was right on it. Food arrived quickly and was delicious!

Loved the music the DJ was playing. It wasn't overly loud, but good vibey. Banana french toast is AMAZING along with the Oakmont version of an expresso martini!
Super nice staff— got us in and out quickly because we had a show to make it to. We were 10 minutes late for our reservation but they held our table. And the food is ALWAYS delicious. My favorite downtown restaurant!
Food was good wait was a little longer than reservation time but worked out good due to a few late people. Will definitely be back
We had a reservation at 10 which is right when they open. The food was delicious, and the server was great. It got very loud with the DJ's music by the time we left.
We were casually strolling around Indy when we stumbled upon this hidden gem. The atmosphere was fantastic, the locals were so welcoming. It was a bustling Sunday brunch spot with a talented DJ playing awesome tunes. The bartenders were top-notch, going above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. They made great espresso martnis and one of them even whipped up a matcha tea for my partner on the house! We indulged in some delicious food, opting for the breakfast Buddha with extra jalapeños and a breakfast sampler. Everything was freshly made, beautifully presented, and incredibly tasty. This spot is definitely a must-visit for a perfect Sunday brunch with your loved one and friends!
