Kristen, our waitress, was wonderful and so were the people who worked with me to get the count right for our reservation. The food was okay. The sausages were a favorite along with the pretzels.
Thanks again for the wonderful accommodations. Our guests were pleased with the food and the service. Always enjoy the time at The Rathskeller.
Love the menu. Hard to find parking nearby - but the building has a ton of character. Wait staff were so attentive for such a large venue too!
We had Kraut balls, the brie plate and the artichoke dip as appetizers. They were all delicious. Watch out for the HOT mustard on the pretzels! Ha! The mushroom soup was 'to die for'. The salads had too much dressing. The sauerbraten was a little sweeter than I remembered. It was fine for me, but my niece did not care for it. The spaetzle noodles were dry and had little flavor. The creamed spinach was yummy.
Great service, didn't have to wait too long, they offered to take a group photo for us. The food is on brand. I love their sausages. Meh for the fried food, such as the fried calamari was more like bread crumbs than calamari, the fried pork chop was average but the other pork chop was very good (I forgot the name), shredded beef was too sweet for our taste
Beautiful building, food was good, good menu selection. Hostess staff & wait staff were not friendly, barely spoke at all. If you are going for food & originality it's good. If you are going for friendly service, don't expect much & maybe you will be surprised. Allow plenty of time, no one was in a hurry.
Food - amazing Service - impeccable Support staff - always available Ambience - historical elegance Overall - stunning My wife and I got engaged here 15 years ago. We came back for our anniversary. My wife received a flower and amazing attention. We will continue to come back every year or more. Thank you for the amazing time!
I always have brats, sauerkraut and mashed potato's. Two other people loved their meals, steak sandwich and schnitzel. The fourth person was complaining about the roulodan (sp?) being tough and chewy. She didn't finish her meal. Over all we had a great time.
athskeller has a charming ambiance and a solid reputation, so I had high hopes going in. Unfortunately, the experience was mixed. The food overall was underwhelming. The glazed carrots were disappointing—barely edible, weirdly sweet, and lacking balance. Mashed potatoes and potato salad were both fine but forgettable—nothing that stood out in flavor or presentation. The steak was a quality cut of meat, which I appreciated, but it was under-seasoned and lacked a proper crust, which made it feel like a missed opportunity. The dining room was moderately loud, which made conversation a bit difficult at times, and while the service was adequate, it did not quite match the price point of the meal. Friendly but not particularly attentive or polished. All in all, it was a bad evening, but it did not live up to expectations either. With a little more care in the kitchen and stronger service, this could be a great spot—but as it stands, it is just okay.
Cool place for good German cuisine and a supercool beirgarten with a gorgeous bands hell for music!

The Rathskeller is always a great choice! Our server was attentive and the food was delicious.
Really great food but the restaurant itself is starting to show its age. Make a reservation!

Another great visit here. It's always so busy, and there's a reason why. The building itself is remarkable, but the authentic German food and beers really are amazing. Great job!

We had a wonderful lunch at the Rathskeller. We came from out of town and we booked a table early. We were one of the only couples there for lunch so our waitress was able to spend extra time explaining the menu and beers to us since it was our first time there. She was an amazing waitress. We opted to take a few items home and the kitchen packaged them up for us so that they wouldn't spill and they went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience. I would highly recommend the pretzel, potato pancakes, German chocolate cheesecake and my husband loved the sausage sampler platter. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone.
