Charming vintage restaurant. Similar to the Tam O'Shanter in L.A. but German. Large portions of good German food and very friendly servers.
I'm being generous in the rating. We had heard a lot of good things about this place and were looking forward to the experience and yet it didn't live up to the hype. When asked what was on season draft only one option was give but the table next to us was given 3-4 seasonal selections. When asked about recommendations the server pointed to the “most ordered items” but never made comments as to personal favorites, recommendations or suggestions. We were never offered the option of a soup and the salad with house dressing was automatically brought out. When we pointed out that one of our meals were wrong it was taken back and the same plate was brought back with a small amount of sauce added. The food itself was not hot and was lacking in flavor all around. We got dessert to go and we should have just skipped it because the black forest cake was on par with the rest of the meal and was disappointing.
So happy to dine there through the decades and that you maintain so many German staples .. schnitzel, Spaetzle, sauerkraut balls, pretzels & hot mustard, frikadella. LOVE the Keller Bar AND die biergarten!! And the German beer selection is primo!
Wonderful dinner and very interesting restaurant. Excellent food - huge portions consider sharing an entree. Really enjoyed our server, Jennifer. She was excellent and so funny. Very nice evening.
The atmosphere was very unique and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and we had a wonderful meal. Definitely recommend!
Our waitress and food were wonderful. Everyone was very attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious and the portions were huge....enough for two meals.
Quality food at a reasonable price. Great service. Excellent beer options, draft and bottles.
Excellent from starter to dessert. Great server recommendation for a local brown ale. And the house jaegerschnitzel was marvelous. Great old building.
Always a treat, while opened minded I do wish servers did not expose nose rings and tattoos.
Our waitress Lacy was wonderful! Very attentive and pleasant! She made our dinner special!!!

Great location if going to the Murat as we were. Great service. Pretzel appetizer with the hot mustard was amazing! It was really hot outside day we attended and AC was having a hard time keeping up inside in the older building.
Love German food (got hooked while stationed overseas in Germany), and the Rathskeller continues to impress! Great food, service, and ambiance! 🙂
We loved our visit to the Rathskeller. The food was delicious and it was quiet on a week night. I would highly recommend!
The salad had been sitting in a refrigerator for hours, the pork loin was so dry and the Brie cheese was delicious, but it was covered with 1000 almond slices. As soon as the complementary pretzels, cool down, they were hard as a rock. We used to love going here, but the food is not magical.
We went there for our first time this past weekend, and will likely never return. Poor excuse for service! Servers were not professional in the least bit, my cup sat empty 2 separate occasions for over 5 minutes. Waited 10 minutes for ketchup. My first drink was root beer brought and poured warm into a warm glass. This place has been recommended by several people but man, they didn’t live up to ANY of the hype. Spend your money and time elsewhere. I hope if you go they exceed your expectations because they didn’t come close to even meeting mine. 1/10
