I enjoyed a late lunch here one day, and I found it to be quite nice. The historic building makes for a nice, traditional German atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and I was able to sit down in the bar area right away. I got the sauerbraten, a dish I hadn’t tried before, and I found the food to be delicious. The slightly sour sauce was novel to me, but it was tasty with the beef. It made for a very hearty lunch. German restaurants aren’t common where I’m from, so...

Absolutely love the atmosphere and the service is great. I had one of the best Manhattans. Be aware that the horseradish mustard will make your hair grow...dip lightly. It's a perfect place for dinner before heading to the Old National Center (just around the corner). Fine German food!
