Worst bar experience ever. Me and my friend drove from Missouri to Indianapolis for New Years to go bar hopping. We decided to go The Rook after seeing all the good reviews. We stood at the bar for about 5 minutes until we were approached by a heavyset older lady who didn’t ask for, but rudely demanded our IDs.
We gave her our valid Missouri State driver’s licenses, only for them to be literally thrown back at us from across the bar, and told that they’re fake IDs. We tell her that those are indeed our IDs, and she hatefully says that she can go scan them.
We tell her yes, please scan those because they’re not fake. She walks into the kitchen, then comes back approximately .2 seconds later, literally flings our IDs at us AGAIN, and says they’re fake and that we need to leave. All because we’re from out of state. I think it’s very plausible that the young woman in a Mizzou varsity jacket is actually from Missouri, just saying. Will not be returning, would give 0 stars if possible.

Colleen and Ashley both waited on us. We were a party of five, and we got there at around 7 PM on a Saturday night and were able to get a table. I had read reviews about the food being really good. We have been there before for drinks, and the prices are very reasonable. We all ordered food. Colleen was very informative about what was good and gave us a lot of details, which was so helpful. Collectively, we had the Parmesan cheese curds appetizer with the chipotle dip, which is house made, and incredibly delicious! That appetizer was great, and we saved the chipotle dip for our fries and whatever else! Two of us had burgers, which were great, I had the potato skins, which were very fresh, excellent. Another person had the wings, naked, with sauce on the side, very good, great quality chicken. And the other person had their Friday night special appetizer of mushrooms and shrimp with cheese on top, baked in the oven. It was excellent. They were the smaller button mushrooms, with shrimp alongside, they were not stuffed mushrooms. But it was very good. We loved all of the food, loved the wonderful service from Ashley and Colleen, and we will definitely be back! Highly recommend. ❤️

Unfortunately, the bartender may have had a really bad night or she is drunk, because some random girls decided to engage in conversation with my husband, and suddenly he was affiliated with them (the girls were doing drugs?!?!) it was super confusing what happened, however the girls were kicked out for visiting the bathroom in pairs too many times. We were banned and told never to come back because they talked to him. I tried my best to find some reason in all of this, but it was not resolved, she had her mind made up. My advice to someone who isn’t a regular, don’t come. They do not welcome anyone new for arbitrary reasons. It’s too bad. I used to love this place.

My friend and I drove 3hrs from Ohio to Indianapolis for the Taylor Swift concert yesterday, long story short we got played and wasn’t able to get in due to a ticket issue, so we decided to find something else to do and try to make the best out of our situation and night! I hopped on Google and looked up “bars near me”, and this was the one that caught our eyes! When we got there and sat down, I immediately knew we made the best decision!! These were strangers to us, but it really felt like family after 15 mins of being there, it felt like home💕 The other customers were all so sweet and kind to us, even offered us food and looked out for my friend and I throughout our time there to make sure we were safe! The service was absolutely wonderful, we ordered a pizza and it was literally the best pizza I’ve ever had🥹 Thank you guys for an incredible time and memories that I’ll never ever ever forget, you guys turned our night around for us and we are so very thankful, grateful, and appreciative for that and yall🥺🥹🙏🏼💕 I’d also like to thank the kind man who followed my friend and I back to our room to make sure we made it safely, yall have good hearts and we are so thankful for you and for this experience, God bless🥺😭💕 Please go check this place out, it’s so worth it in every aspect, and the bartender is super sweet, and helpful, along with being handsome and having the most beautiful and welcoming smile!!!! Here to say their gluten free pizza is sooo good!! I'm from the region where pizza is made right! Since moving here, I've been disappointed with pizza more often than not. Esp gluten free! Their pizza is perfect!! Just like my hometowns, not stingy on toppings and seasoned perfect and addicting!

So I think this is my new favorite local place. Had a great local, friendly vibe. Only reason I ranked it 4 stars is because the wings took sooooo long! That being said, they were super delicious! The bartender was sweet and helpful and was managing a full bar alone pretty efficiently! I got the house favorite wings, like I mentioned, amazing! Mostly got beers, so can’t comment on the drinks really. I will be coming here more often, so hopefully the time it takes to get food was a fluke. I will definitely update this review to 5 stars.

That being said, they were super delicious!The bartender was sweet and helpful and was managing a full bar alone pretty efficiently!I got the house favorite wings, like I mentioned, amazing! Mostly got beers, so can’t comment on the drinks really.I will be coming here more often, so hopefully the time it takes to get food was a fluke. I will definitely update this review to 5 stars.
