This picture is not The Thristy Turtle. That was an old name of a bar on Meridian. And that bar sucks. Now however there is a bar called "The Thirsty Turtle TWO." It is located near Main Street in Beech Grove and has cheap wings Monday, affordable beer, and a decent set up. Don't care for the day time bar tender but the owner is a sweetheart.

Food was good and the waitress was nice and happy. Beer and spirits were good. You need to experience it at least once!
It's got everything you'd want in a neighborhood bar. Strong drinks, friendly staff, diverse crowd, good music, surprisingly good food, plus lots of dart boards. I'd heard folks say they recommend the catfish nuggets & I was a little suspicious til I tried them. The breading was light, allowing the catfish flavor to come through without being "fishy" tasting. They have daily specials too. I tried the pork and asparagus soup because it sounded interesting...it was quite good! I noticed a steady stream of people coming in to dine so you can tell the food keeps folks coming back.

Stopped by for a beer yesterday to get out of my hotel and had a good time hanging out with a local and Theresa. Ended up having a pretty damn good bacon cheese burger and fries and a few more beers. Good menu options with daily special, they have a game area with a pool table and darts. Going back to try the fish fry and have a few more beers today. Must try local spot for good food and cheap beers.
