Date night! Our first visit here. We were seated without having reservations, which was great for a Saturday nite! The entire staff that attended to us was very polite and a
pleasure to talk to.
Food was properly prepared & served in a very decent timeframe. We never felt rushed and would most certainly fine here again when downtown!

Honestly a very poor dining experience. It was extremely cold in this place due to outdoor seating in the winter time that isn't very well insulated/heated with their plastic coverings. They also pack people in so the servers were bumping into my wife and I multiple times during our meal. Small serving sizes to where we ended up getting food on the way home. Service was excellent and drinks were good.

We had an amazing time at the Moroccan dinner event! I never been to Tinker Street before and absolutely loved the vibe! The staff was super friendly and helpful! And who doesn’t love starting a meal with a sip of champagne! Can’t wait to go back and have something off their regular menu!

We decided to try the chef's table with a group of friends in September. I worked with Lisa to find a date and time, informed her of any dietary restrictions / no-go's on specific types of food we had within the group, and established our group consensus on the level of spice. Communication leading up to the evening was great. The menu is a surprise, they do not tell you what you are having prior. You show up and the show begins! We had a squash and eggplant bruschetta paired with a pinot grigio, cold vermicelli (which was wonderful) paired with a vermentino, lamb loin with a carrot puree and a cotes-do-rhone (this was my favorite dish) and finally a miso banana bread with a cognac for dessert. The food was great but I have to say the experience the staff at Tinker Street provides is what makes this special and without a doubt worth the splurge. The chef and the sommelier both explained each dish / wine pairing as they were served. There was no moment once a dish or utensil was finished with that it remained on the table. The staff would just whisk in stealthily and remove it / replace it without interrupting any conversation. Waters were always full. Cocktails were always offered to be replenished once they started getting low. The entire experience was just lovely - I could not recommend this more. Prices vary a bit but ours was $80 / person for the menu plus $50 / person for the wine pairing. Very fair overall for the quality of the food and the experience. Even if you don't do the chef's table, this little place is a gem in Indianapolis and is wonderful for a charcuterie board and drinks!

This is overall my favorite restaurant in town. It’s small, so you need reservations. Service is fantastic, they will explain the menu in detail and make sure you have everything you need. There is a small menu that changes frequently, but there’s enough variety to fit most palates. Cocktails have always been great. A staple of the menu is their ricotta donuts, which were great. Highly recommend for a nicer meal in town.

If I could give Tinker St a higher rating than 5 stars, I would. We have been enjoying this fine establishment since it opened, and have always had a fantastic meal on every visit. Last night, though... Just WOW!!!! We were celebrating a birthday, and boy did we celebrate! We started off with an exceptionally well priced bottle of delicious bubbly, and ordered our 3 appetizers. There were four of us, and we like to sample and share. We started off with the citrus salad, beet tartine, and brussels sprouts. The salad was a refreshing palate cleanser for the other apps. The beet tartine was delectable due to the sweetness of the beets and the creamy goat cheese and light bacon garnish. Just perfect. I might be using that word a little too much in this review, but it was warranted. The brussels sprout dish affected me so much I am still thinking about it almost 24 hours later. I love sprouts a lot, but often when dining out these days they are covered in a sticky, salty, overly sweet preparation. These sprouts were fried to a consistent texture, with bleu cheese, onion, and the tang of lemon, sprinkled with hazelnuts. The effect was like a savory dessert. It wasn't sweet, but the flavors mixed together was like no other dish I have ever tasted. Hands down, my most favorite brussel sprout dish ever. Order this. I'm serious. OK, next the vegan broccoli soup, which was also- pure perfection. You would have never known this soup was vegan, due to its creaminess and balanced flavors. Not too thin or thick- but broccoli with a bit of tofu puree and deliciously seasoned. Our friends got the shrimp and grits, (always a fave part of a Tinker St dinner), and the Great Lakes Walleye with lentils. The fish was cooked perfectly. Moist inside with a crispy outside, and luscious lentils alongside. My better half and I shared the mushroom stroganoff. The mushrooms were flavorful, with a nice soft chew, and the pasta was al dente- so it was a pleasure to enjoy and did not last long on the plate. The four of us ate every single bite of every dish on the table........ we were so happy. Honestly, one of the best meals ever. But we weren't done! Then came the birthday desserts.... We got the banana pudding, the ricotta doughnuts, and the red velvet brownie. All three were excellent, and all unique. The ricotta doughnuts were refreshingly different, the banana pudding, a lovely taste of comforting goodness, and the red velvet brownie was elegant with cream and raspberries. We did not lick the plates clean, but we came really close. Tinker St just keeps getting better and better. Of course, our service was just as great as always. Not intrusive, and when you ask a question, you get real information. Love that too. This is the place for a perfect celebratory dinner meal, but it's also a great place to break bread with friends, or impress a date with your good taste. Tom Main has taken Tinker St to "such great heights'. We couldn't love it more. No photos because we had no patience to wait for the first bite, and once we started.... we couldn't stop. No kidding.

The staff was a 5 all the way

Our first course was really good but then it just went downhill from there
The steak and potatoes tasted like a canned tomato sauce was put on it and the steak was so fatty
Desserts weren’t any better. Just tastes very basic.
With the other reviews and the prices on the menu, I was expecting wayyyy more.
We were also sat in the middle by the kitchen and bathroom. I get making use of space but some kind of barrier to the restroom would be ideal

I love this place! It seriously might be my new favorite restaurant in Indy. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is cool and the food is phenomenal. I had the pork chop and my aunt had the scallops. Both were amazing! The cocktail I had was perfect and the desert (peanut parfait) was legendary. A few items are a little pricey for what they are ($21 for 3 gyoza), but what do you do when you’re always fully booked, even on weekdays? You raise the prices. So I get it. The experience is worth it though and there are plenty of very good reasons that people keep returning. My experience made me want to try everything on the menu and it’s my understanding that it changes seasonally. I’ll definitely be back.
