As a follower of Neil Brown I had to come and support Ukiyo during the beginning of the pandemic as he supported Federal employees during the government shut down. I started with the Edamame with citrus salt. It was perfectly prepared and the citrus added that little something extra. I also tried the Chirashi Bowl with Seared tuna, hamachi, salmon, crab, avocado, braised shiitake with a Salad. It was AMAZING!!! The only downside to the meal was I wanted more! The to go order was well packaged and as beautifully arranged in the containers as it would have been plated in house. It was a special treat!

I've been wanting to come here for months but have never had the time to make it across town. Well - now I have all the time in the world and Ukiyo has put together a great curbside system! Most importantly, this ramen is amazinggggg - just what I needed after a long week of self isolation with my wonderful and rambunctious 8 month old. The broth was really salty by itself - but perfect with the noodles and pork and egg (I got the shoyu ramen). I ordered extra noodles and my bag came with two sets of utensils. "Why?" I asked myself - before i started eating. "Ohhhh," I said to myself when I was full after half of my first order of noodles. - You could definitely share a bowl of ramen with double noodles with a friend. Except right now you actually can't do that - so you can take the noodles out and save them and the rest of your broth for later! For 3 dollars extra - why not?? In case you're wondering how curbside works - if you place your order online, you'll get a call to tell you when it'll be ready (mine was ready in 10 minutes). When you get to the shop, park out front and call them back. They'll bring out your order and put it in through the passenger side window. Through their front window, I could see bags and bags on tables, waiting to be filled or picked up. I could also see gloves (which the kind curbside delivery guy changed between every order) and a container of Clorox wipes. In summary, Ukiyo was everything I was hoping it would be and more - thank you guys for stepping up during this time and providing some much needed food for the soul!

Didn't really get a fair take tonight; the server was overwhelmed and several items I wanted on menu were unavailable but what I did have was tasty. I can really tell) taste the quality of the seafood they use. My sushi was delicious.

I went there today with my friends. The service was amazing, this place made me feel very welcomed too. 10/10 would go again and for sure recommend this place to other ppl. :) (the place is also very aesthetically pleasing and they play nice background music.)

A great place for ramen and sushi! We ordered the shoyu ramen to start. The flavor was savory but can be a touch less salty, but it did not stop me from devouring the whole bowl. I really liked the texture of the noodles in this ramen! Super chewy and soaked up the flavor of the broth well. We also got the five for $15 chef nigiri selection. It came with five different raw fish, all of which tasted very fresh! We ended our course with the crab roll. It came with salmon sashimi on top with blue crab and avocado on the inside. To be completely honest, I could not taste the blue crab for the life of me, but the roll otherwise was good! Would definitely come back here in the future!

On a cold, snowy February night this cozy establishment was the perfect place for a simple, yet delicious dinner. I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. I had been here when it was Recess and almost just assumed the price point would be the same or similar. Definitely not! This place had a great menu and several different price points for all budgets. Give it a shot, no matter what you are planning on paying, they have something for you. I went with my wife and we decided to split two orders of the lean blue fin tuna nigiri and the yelllowtail nigiri. Two pieces come in an order, so we each got an order of each for ourselves. Those range from $5-10 depending on what you order. We also ordered the spicy, braised pork Ramen, and wow, that was huge range of flavors in a bowl! The meat, veggies, and noodles were all cooked perfectly. The entire thing almost melted in your mouth. I'm getting hungry for it again as I write this. We also each had a glass of wine and walked away with a $62 bill before tip. We were both satisfied and no longer hungry. Great Meal! The space itself was very cool and inviting. Awesome restaurant! Neal Brown is the man! I can't wait to go back!

Ukiyo (4907 N College Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46205) is my (and my wife's) absolute favorite spot for eating sushi in and around Indianapolis, IN. As someone who lives downtown (which is seriously lacking a great sushi restaurant) it take something special in a restaurant for my wife and I to venture to the midtown/the Northside and Ukiyo is one of those few establishments that tugs at my heart strings and leads me to venture from downtown to midtown simply for a bite to eat. Ukiyo offers a very personal Omakase experience prepared by Chef Neal Brown and his team by reservation only on Fridays and Saturdays. If you can spring for the cost ($$$$) it is certainly worthwhile for that special occasion. My wife was nice enough to secure us an Omakase reservation for our anniversary and it was worth every penny (and more)! Expert Tip: If you haven't had the opportunity take a flyer and check out Ukiyo on Tuesday nights where they offer half-price sushi (a fantastic date night on the cheap) on both dine in and carry-out orders.

Thank you for our wonderful, tasty dinner last night. I love coming to your restaurant! I used to work down the street and snuck out for lunch here whenever possible. The service is always excellent and the food is always on point.

Eh... mediocre to say the absolute least. I'd be willing to give them another shot...maybe they had an off night. But, I wouldn't pay the amount we initially paid. Ramen was kinda bland. Sushi didnt taste very fresh. I was told that this is the closest it could get to the homeland. ‍ All in all the best thing I experienced there was the end of the night drink. Idk what it was but they give it to you when you're closing out. It was awesome. Food, not so much.
