Average at best. Ironically, the wasabi is awful. You’d think the namesake would be better but here we are with some stale wasabi… dinner entrees aren’t worth the time of day.

DO NOT ORDER GYUDON!
its nothing like the ones in asian and very far from Japan's standard.

Which gyudon in this world has thick slices of beef that is tough, filled with udon, broccoli and carrots?

Gyudon is supposed to have only thinly sliced beef, onions, japanese dashi with japanese short grain rice.

Very disappointing experience considering this is rated 4.4 stars on Google.

I would recommend the chef to take a trip to Japan and order a bowl of gyudon from any stall/restaurant.

Rude rude rude the old skinny white waiter with long salt and pepper hair slam the menu down and did not explain well on the different types of sushi when asked. Is it because we aren't white and people of color. Sad day that we go to have sushi and are treated this way! The menus look like a novel and were old and dirty! Chef Ramsey would not be impressed! Manager/owner fire these crusty old guys and get some decent help! Also get better updated menus! This place looks like a dungeon! DO NOT GO HERE!

wasabi on 82nd is a HIDDEN GEM. i have eaten here for 10+ years and they never disappoint. the food is delicious and always comes out quickly. the servers are kind and attentive (we had sisilia tonight and she was so sweet). if you’re an out of town guest or local sushi-lover, this place is a MUST TRY.

Great spot for lunch or a casual dinner. They have a nice wine/saki selection and the food is very fresh and flavorful. Love the sushi and they will make it to custom order if they don't have it on the menu. Also gluten- friendly

Dietary restrictions: Upon Request gluten free or dairy free

Parking: large parking lot. in a strip center next to an ice cream shop

This is easily my favorite sushi place of all the sushi places I have been to in the city. It ends up being about $85 everytime my husband and I visit prior to tip.The green tea is delicious, we get it everytime. Yellowtail jalapeno roll is exceptionally delicious. I also love the avocado rolls and the cucumber rolls. My husband is also a fan of the red dragon roll. (I think that's the name of it) We only ever get sushi when we go so I can't say anything about anything else.Sometimes the servers take a bit to get to us but always delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend.

I had the Mistake roll and the Alaska roll. The Mistake roll was delicious! Alaska roll wasn’t my favorite but it tasted fresh so it has more to do with my preferences. The restaurant was very clean. Bathrooms were well maintained. Service was very kind however my server did have a heavy smell of cigarettes which gave me a bit of a headache. Overall I will definitely come back here!

The food is okay but the service….we’ve come to eat on a few occasions and the older server is so painfully rude. Tonight he could be heard screaming at the other employee in the kitchen. When we walked in, the sushi chef motioned us to sit in a booth. The server then has us move which would’ve been fine but it was communicated poorly. Then when I wanted to put our order in when he came for our drinks, he said we can’t cut the food line and that there were lots of take out orders ahead of us.

Wasabi on 82nd is without a doubt the best sushi spot in Indy! The sushi is fresh, the food is great, but the best part about this spot is the attentiveness of the staff. The wait staff is patient, helpful, and kind. If you are in the Castleton area for whatever reason, this place is worth the visit.

The old guy with the grey hair that works here is extremely RUDE!! If you don’t like your job just quit! Besides that they have phenomenal sushi! Wide array of sushi options to choose from. Prices aren’t bad as well.

The service was incredibly slow. The waiter gave us 1 menu for 3 people and when my friend asked him to come back for his drink order he said ‘no I’ll wait’ and then impatiently started listing off the different kind of drinks they had. The fried rice was absolutely disgusting and the worst I have had. My partner and I had the sushi and both of us have been sick all weekend. There are much better sushi places in the city that won’t make you sick and have much better staff.
