O “Mr. Review You” Cally

I never left a review, and I will say that this place, hands down, makes some of the best shakes I've ever had in my life, and if I ever come back in Indianapolis I'd make sure to visit this place of business.

Would be very helpful if you'd actually update your address so people can actually find you instead of wasting their time and gas

20230423 The shop’s googled site states it’s now operating from inside the “lvl up gaming shop”. Recentvisit to the area we did walk by this game shop and saw several arcade games from the window. So if true, good luck Wyliepalooza we may visit again if true! Recent view of your website seemed expanded menu variety than our original visit with earlier ownership.20230414 update. Store closed, windows papered coverings.Original post: This Irvington ice cream shoppe had reasonable foot traffic during our visit. Generous portions and servers were courteous. Yet, the flavor varieties were few, as compared to what we consider for this brand of ice cream's retail stores of West Lafayette's Silver Dipper (near Chauncey Hill). Wyliepalooza's variety was sparse in comparison and honestly I struggled to decide which of what I consider their variety as perhaps less popular. Ok, I was looking for iced latte da (coffee w/ chocolate chips) but wound up with a cappucino flavor which just didn't compare. There was a really powerful, strong airborne odor in the store that I couldn't place if it was incense (remember the Karma record stores?) that permeated everything almost to the point of asphyxiation. Someone in our party thought it was a cleaning agent. Too much!!!! The only reason I'd return is for the brand of ice cream and perhaps proximity but with knowledge I probably will strain to find a flavor with which I favor or am familiar. The indoor decor is budget teenager oddball knick knacks and even kid finger paintings which is cute but just lends no consistent atmosphere. Okay, there are a few other retail stores selling this Chocalatte Shoppe Wisconsin brand ice cream and yes I think I will try some of those other stores and repost. Now, this store offered other foods than ice cream, so that might be their niche. Parking may be tough during peak days/hours (we went on a Sunday dreary afternoon) and didn't know there's a back door/rear parking lot aside from street parking and what seemed to be one shared public lot across the street. Not a place I'd go to impress a date, but just something low-end quirky.

As Jean Genet, I often reflect on the problems that afflict our society, and the disillusionment it brings. This is why my visit to Wyliepalooza Ice Cream on East Washington Street in Indianapolis was both a much-needed respite and a poignant reminder of the complexities of our existence. The decor of the restaurant is simple yet inviting, with bright colors and cheerful signs decorating the walls. But despite the lighthearted atmosphere, I cannot help but feel a sense of unease in a country where the inequalities and injustices of the capitalist system are on full display.Still, the warm and friendly employees of the restaurant are a breath of fresh air. They were eager to serve me, and seemed to embody a spirit of kindness that is so often lacking in our society. But this was not the only thing that made my visit to Wyliepalooza Ice Cream a memorable one. The highlight of my meal was the Ultimate Oreo ice cream, which was nothing short of a work of art. As I savored the creamy blend of vanilla and chocolate, I was reminded of a quote from one of my own works: "Life is a series of contrasts, like light and shadow, or sweet and sour."As I sat at the counter, I was approached by a customer who seemed to embody all of the worst aspects of our society. They were rude and entitled, and seemed to have no respect for those around them. The encounter left me feeling shaken and disturbed, and reinforced my belief that we must take action to create a better world for all.The Ultimate Oreo ice cream can be seen as a metaphor for life in capitalist America. It is a treat that is enjoyable and satisfying, yet at the same time, it is also a reminder of the excess and privilege that is so prevalent in our society.Despite my reservations about American culture, I must give Wyliepalooza Ice Cream a positive rating for the quality of their food and service. The ice cream was truly delicious, and the employees were a joy to interact with.To end this review, I would like to quote a line from my novel "Our Lady of the Flowers": "I will be as sweet as sugar, but beneath my sugar coating lies a heart of steel." This quote speaks to my conflicting emotions towards Wyliepalooza Ice Cream: I enjoyed the treat, but I cannot forget the realities of our world.

This place has been on my "want to go" list for a while and I was excited to try it. It was so cute from the outside. However, I was bummed that the staff wasn't friendly or engaging at all. Isn't ice cream supposed to be happy? My daughter got Boba tea and thought it was very watered down. My other daughter didn't order anything because she thought it smelled like an old house. She wasn't wrong. They list way more flavors on the website than they actually carry. Its still a decent selection. I really wanted to love this place, but it was a downer.

Great place for ice cream! Not many places have hand dipped ice cream anymore. Lots of good flavors and all homemade. Love that this location is on the main strip of restaurants in Irvington.

Best ice cream around! It's our families favorite summer time treat! Lots of options and options for those with food allergies as well!

Fun spot in Irvington to grab some ice cream and other sweet treats. It went under a renovation recently and it's now heavily anime themed, if that works for you!I went with an early grey lavender ice cream..... it was amazing. I liked their unique flavors and would recommend this spot!

Ice cream is decent but one of the workers was rude. That person was also training somebody and was very rude to him and was causing a scene because he didnt use the correct scoop size for the kiddie cup.I spent well over 20 dollars for ice cream and she wouldn't even let me purchase a banana for my 1 year old niece who cannot eat ice cream. My husband finally had to go up and reason with them and insisted they sell us atleast a banana "topping" (which is just a banana cut up). Way too much hassle for something so simple.

Had a group of 7 that walked in on 4-16-22 around 2:00. Got all kinds of stares like we just stepped off of a space ship. The service was great but the girl that took are money was not very friendly. The only time she talked to us when she told us what our bill was. Did not get a thank you or heaven for bid she looked at us and said thank you. Very small inside. About 3 table tops and a booth up front. Will not go back to this place in Irvington. Needs a little elbow grease.

Loved this shop. Took my 4 grandchildren of all ages and they loved it! Great selection of hard ice cream! And bubble tea. My 14 yr old granddaughter loved all the anime products and clothing they had for sell. My grandsons were intrigued by the 90’s Pac-Man machine they have in there.

Seemed unkempt and had no public restrooms. Only 2 lactose free flavors that taste like sherbet. Others in my party weren't impressed with the ice cream flavor they purchased.

Does not carry the items they advertise on their website. Employees just stare at you until you order and the ice cream is overpriced. It's distasteful that the owner comes on here and makes excuses for low ratings. Stop arguing with people and fix your problemsEdit: Hilarious that the owner has to come on here and make it seem like I don't know what places I've been to. What a joke.
