This is an awesome little spot. It's a grocery store and a restaurant. They have a variety of Mexican snacks and drinks that you can buy. I bought some Mexican sodas and juices that I am excited to try. From the restaurant, I ordered sopes for myself and tacos for my stepson. I ordered one chicken sopes and one steak. The chicken sopes was really good! The steak, however, tasted weird to me. I would definitely order the chicken ones again. My stepson enjoyed the steak tacos....
I was told by a couple of people that El Borrego is Kokomo's finest, and I was not disappointed. The menu is vast and everything is delicious. Salsa with cilantro is bangin'! Plenty of seating, fast service and festive decor. Someone is a fan of Star Wars. The sides in cups is a little too neat for me and the sides portions can be more generous. The entree portions however are very generous. We will be back!
I had an awesome experience at this little gem inside the Mexican grocery store. I tried three traditional tacos—Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and Barbacoa—and they were all delicious! The Barbacoa, only available on weekends, was so tender and packed with flavor. They served the tacos with bottles of Salsa Verde and Roja, which added just the right kick. The service was super friendly too. Definitely recommend if you’re craving authentic tacos!
