Absolutely horrible. I ordered a chopped stake and was served a cold hamburger patty. I assumed I received the wrong order so I walked up to the woman and she proceeded to tell me that a plain hamburger patty sitting on top of cold fries was what they call chopped steak. Will never eat her again

as in Kokomo on a rare occasion and wanted to check out something cool and local. How wrong I was to do so…
Upon pulling in I was immediately “greeted” by an extremely rude wait staff. Uninterested and upset at three questions about the menu and accepted payments. Red flag one. Upon further inspection the whole place was simply dirty not appealing to the eyes. Red flag two. And although already upset I still reserved hope in my heart that some traditional Indiana grub could save the day, I was yet again let down. Although the tenderloin was truly massive, it consisted mostly of hard fried matter and the bun and toppings only cover about a 10th of the sandwich. I truly don’t understand the thought to the construction of this tenderloin and am unhappy to be an unhappy customer. I rarely write a review and truly was hoping throughout my experience that improvement was on the horizon, but alas.

Fun old fashioned drive in. The food is kind of old style with different menu items than some other places. Service is ok. The dining room isn't open it used to be and was pretty nice little place but since covid you have to use the drive in and can not enter the restaurant.

We went for the big tenderloin. The tenderloin was really good can't say it was bad, but we felt that it lacked flavor. The tenderloin was tender and juicy. We also ordered a side of tater tots, which was extremely disappointing we may have got 12 in our order. And it cost over $4. Then we got pickle chips which was over $5 and there might have been 16 in that they both were a really big joke. We also got a patty melt, and it was really good very cheesy Burger done great just wish that they had taken more care in the onion it wasn't fully grilled. And they didn't bother to clean the outer skin so The Onion was a little rubbery. Service was very prompt very friendly and patient

Visited on September 19, 2025 at 7:35pm. First and foremost, I visited Ray's because I had heard they had very large hand breaded tenderloins that were well seasoned. The pictures of them also looked pretty good. Unfortunately, that's not what my fiancée received when she ordered a breaded tenderloin. Instead, what she received was a frozen, processed pork patty. Like the kind you can get at Gordon food or save a lot. It was approximately 6 inches in diameter and clearly not hand breaded. Furthermore it had quite a bit of gristle. I was so very disappointed, as my fiancée hasn't been in Indiana very long and it wanted to show her a great tenderloin. Unfortunately, my disappointment doesn't end there. I ordered the 8 piece catfish dinner. It came with 8 pieces of catfish, fries, coleslaw, and a dinner roll. In my honest opinion, it's probably some of the worst catfish I've had in a long while. It was mushy and slimy, while also lacking flavor. The tartar sauce was in packets, and it too wasn't very good. The coleslaw may have been the worst of it all, actually. It had a very strong radish flavor, and on further inspection (we were eating in the car and it was dark), the cabbage in the coleslaw was brown and very old. The crinkle cut fries i received were plentiful, unfortunately they were cold, and as it was close to closing time, it appeared i got the fries that were the left overs from the rest of the day. The dinner roll is store bought. For my catfish dinner, her tenderloin sandwich, and two large cokes that consisted of 80% ice and very little actual beverage, the price came to $32 dollars and change. I ended up paying 35 total to include tip for the server, who, despite the considerable disappointment in food, she was pleasant. Side note: I could see in the kitchen as my order was being prepared. Neither of the cooks were wearing gloves, and the female cook kept wiping the sweat off of her face, rubbing her hands on her pants, and then handling the food bare handed with sweat on them. I was so very hopeful after reading a couple of reviews that turned out to not be very accurate. Absolutely zero percent chance of me returning here, ever. What a shame :(

Ray's Drive-In is by far one of the best places in town. I'm obsessed with their chicken and noodles. I just got some today because I've been feeling under the weather for the last week. And just a couple bites of it and I already started to feel better. I swear these chicken and noodles have saved my life a thousand times when I felt like crap.lol

Haven't been here in 40 years. I've been telling my wife about it for 30. It's definitely not the same. The tenderloin was overcooked, and it wasn't seasoned.
