Food was 10/10!!!!! Loved it! The outside of the establishment needs to look more appealing, maybe bigger signage, brighter colors, decor inside also needs work….but the food was GREAT!

Nothing special. The hype had me jazzed about visiting. I appreciate the kindness and the effort put forth by the staff. I had catfish, cabbage, mac & cheese and yams. Nothing blew me away🫣
If you are a large party, they don't have capacity. There were 12 of us... they took our orders 4 at a time. We got there at 2:30pm the last 4 of us got our dinner at 4:30; everyone else was done with their dinner😭 Im glad I was able to support this black owned business👍🏾

Hidden gem!! Grandma back there cookin cookin! Fish and chicken fried to perfection. Greens fire. Mac and cheese fire. Yams 🔥🔥 Peach lemonade 🔥🔥. Our waitress Mya was great. Music was great as well. Clean establishment and great food and vibes!! I’ll be back soon!!!

My husband & I came to Michigan for the weekend. We were hungry & stumbled upon this hidden gem. Was greeted at the door with a friendly & welcoming smile, Mya was our server, she ddnt rush us as we were uncertain, she answered all questions without frustration. The atmosphere was wonderful, music was a whole vibe, the dining area was clean, the setup was immaculate, family owned buisness. Overall 10/10 we will definitely be back. Whenever you're in LaPorte,IN and want some delicious homemade food stop in to Soul Food Bistro. Go try them for yourself. The Soul Food bistro!! I had the Bistro chops,Lima beans, candied yams and pineapple lemonade my companion had meatloaf,black eyed peas,yams and hot water corn bread.

Food here was absolutely fantastic! The catfish was perfectly flavored, light and not greasy. The ribs were tender and the meat fell off the bone and the greens, mac n cheese, casserole did not disappoint. Even the pizza was well priced and satisfied the delicate palette of an 11 year old child.
Plenty of smiles, friendly and this is flavorful food with a purpose of connecting with their community and has been for many years.

Cabbage was cold not enough seasoning but the fish,chicken,and pork chop was salty but good didn't get my full order of hot water cornbread but the fried orka was delicious

My friends and I drove from South Bend to try them out and was overall pleased. The owner, her mom, and granddaughter were very professional and polite. They asked us how everything was and accepted our feedback with a smile and offered to redo anything if we wanted them to. If you're driving up State Rd.2 and want some home cooked food, go check them out!
