From the moment Mary greeted us at the door, I knew that my family was going to be treated to wonderful hospitality. The food was excellent, fresh and made with care. I am very grateful to have stumbled on this place while driving through town.
I couldn't be more excited that Bistro is back open for lunch! Today I went in for the smoked salmon crepe at lunch time and it was DELICIOUS! I was especially happy to see the decadent caviar on top - what an excellent addition to this dish. I look forward to returning next week to try more lunch menu items!
Absolutely hands down the finest restaurant in Lafayette. From the moment you enter it has the best staff taking care of you. Friendliest bartenders, hard working servers and the best gem of the entire restaurant Mary Buckley! The food is incredible. Its an amazing experience and gets better every visit! Always perfect. You’ll definitely love it. Thanks to all.

Vegan items were marked on the menu, but there were only a couple of them. We got the butternut squash soup and it turned out to be fantastic!
Had dinner there Saturday night of Homecoming weekend. Could not have been better. Greeted at the hostess stand like we were old friends, waiter was on his game, food was spot on! Wine and cocktail list were perfect. Fresh baked bread and desert were terrific. Can not recommend this place enough…

Mary, the owner of Bistro 501, is incredibly accommodating and kind. My husband and I stepped into Bistro 501 on a very busy Friday evening without a reservation. Not only did Mary arrange for us to have a dinner table, she also took time for a quick chat and made us feel truly welcome. Throughout the evening, we noticed her treating everyone in this warm, welcoming way. If you can, treat yourself to this unique, Midwestern elegant and warm experience.

Save yourself a trip to Paris. Great food in a beautiful setting. But skip the dessert and go to McCord Candies / ice cream instead

There are times when we experience things that make it clear that the human being is more than the material. There is a depth to an experience that shows that we are not just here existing, but purposefully and knowingly reaching for a meaning more profound than the mundane world. Eating at the Bistro is one of those experiences.
When eating here you cannot help but feel that when humans first put flame to food we were instinctively on a path to create more than simple sustenance. We were engaged it the evolution of an ideal. The elevation of a simple necessity to an art form that would fill more than our bellies but feed our souls as well. To be human is to be awed and dwell on mystery. The Bistro will provide that experience. Lafayette is lucky to be home to bistro.

Incredibly, delicious food and attentive service. The only negative - the restaurant seemed a bit cramped. With that, the ability to hold a conversation with the company I was having dinner with wasn't affected.
