Good atmosphere and service. Food was exceptionally salty and average. Much more expensive than the average meal.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant — it’s truly one of my favorite places to eat, no matter the time of day. I’ve dined here for brunch, lunch, and dinner more times than I can count, and every experience has been consistently wonderful.

The food is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor with a seasonal change that welcomes new and exciting options. Whether I’m enjoying a hearty brunch, a light lunch, or a relaxing dinner, every dish tastes carefully crafted and thoughtfully prepared. It’s clear that the chefs take pride in what they do as do the bartenders crafting delicious cocktails.

The service is equally impressive. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They remember regular guests, offer great recommendations, and make you feel right at home every single time. Mary brings a unique flare from New England to Lafayette.

And the atmosphere — cozy yet vibrant — makes it perfect for any occasion.

In short, this restaurant delivers on every level. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high standards across all meals and visits, but they truly do. Highly recommended!

Bistro 501 is our go-to place for date nights, brunch with friends, and special celebrations. The food is always top quality, delicious, and the menu is updated regularly to feature seasonal delights. We particularly love their charcuterie plates, Bistro Benedicts, and of course the desserts….be sure to try the crème brûlée. What makes Bistro truly stand out among other wonderful local restaurants is the welcoming and family-style atmosphere set by the owner and maintained by the excellent staff. For example, we went to brunch today to celebrate a birthday, and after making a comment about how delicious their coffee is, Bistro’s owner shared the name of the family-owned bean supplier as well as a to-go container with ground coffee for us to enjoy at home! Just one of many reasons we LOVE this place and will always return.

Had a the chicken and waffles. Wasn't that crazy about it? The chicken was pretty chewy. They needed to cook it longer

This local restaurant, owned by a mother and her two daughters, is the best restaurant in a 50 mile radius of Purdue. The menu accommodates Vegan and GF needs with a variety of interesting dishes. The seafood, pasta, and pork chops are family favorites. I’ve lived in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and on Manhattan, I have NEVER had better hollandaise sauce! Don’t miss Sunday
Brunch! The crème brûlée rivals that found in NY. The staff consists of long term employees who are knowledgeable, friendly, and well trained. Mary, the mother of the trio, has never steered me wrong on a recommendation. Ask for her, tell her Betsy sent you. Oh, and try the specialty cakes and pancakes. So delicious.

This is our go-to special event restaurant. It’s also our favorite brunch restaurant. I’m not sure I can fit all I feel about Bistro 501 into one review, but here’s my shot:
Front of house is run by an accomplished restaurateur, Mary Buckley, who seems to know everyone, and always has a warm welcome for her guests. The sisters (her daughters) who run the kitchen are superstars at executive chef and dessert chef (ask about dessert before you order and plan accordingly). I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal at Bistro 501. Staff is attentive, water glasses are filled, questions are answered, food is served at quantity with highest quality. What else can I say - go eat at Bistro 501 and judge for yourself!

My family took me to Bistro 501 for a special birthday dinner. The food was incredible, the service was spot on. It was an overall perfect dining experience. One of the owners, Mary Buckley, made sure to stop by our table to make sure we were happy with everything and enjoying ourselves. Thank you to Mary and the entire Bistro staff for an amazing evening!

Today was my birthday. My husband surprised me with dinner at 501. Our past experiences have been excellent. Tonight, 4 mistakes were made. The bartender claimed to know how to open wine and present. She didn’t. When you open a bottle of wine, you pour a small amount in 1 glass, then present. You wait until the ordering patron approves. This didn’t happen, not once, but twice. The server got my husband’s dinner order wrong, and didn’t clarify before placing the order. We were then told the kitchen shut down, and too bad, no other dinners were being prepared. We did get his meal comped. The 4th mistake was THAT THE OWNER, on site, DID NOT BOTHER TO SPEAK WITH US! She was near our table, yet couldn’t bring herself to speak with us. The owner then laughed it up with staff, at the bar, knowing we were watching. We are so disappointed, I didn’t even order a dessert, which I really wanted. However, we take satisfaction knowing that we won’t recommend eating at this establishment again.

Bistro 501 is a must eat at spot in Lafayette! The drinks were incredible! Almost too easy to drink haha! The gimlet was one of the best I have ever tried. I also loved the lavender blueberry martini. For food items we went with the escargot, the radish and butter board, the artichoke and truffle risotto and the steak. All of it was amazing. The meals were flavorful and perfectly cooked!

My husband and I love to sit at the bar when it’s just us for dinner. It’s low key, quieter than a lot of restaurants, consistently good food, quality food, and usually organic wine options.
I love their pate!
They are also great about accommodating menu changes and food needs, which I greatly appreciate.
I’ve lived here my entire life and never ate here until several years ago, so glad I finally tried it!
